Worth the time

We had a lot of fun on this tour; it is difficult to get around in Shibuya for first-timers, and since we were only in Tokyo for a couple days, it was a very good way to get a sense of the local food scene and to get in some shopping as well.

Response from the operator: Hello, Arigato for your wonderful review! We’re delighted that we exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed your experience with our fantastic guide. At the Japan Local Experience Club, our mission is to share our passion for Japan and its cuisine with our visitors, and it’s heartwarming to know we achieved that with you. As part of our Japan local family, we appreciate your support. Looking ahead, we have exciting tours waiting for you, including the Asakusa food tour and the Akihabara food tour, Harajuku food tour, among others. We can’t wait to showcase more of Japan’s culinary delights during your next visit. Arigato Aya The Japan local experience Club Team

Great company, AMAZING food!

My fiancé and I had never been to Japan and did not have a clue how to find the hidden gem food spots. Let me tell you, this is the go-to company to utilize if you want to experience traditional Japanese food! Hamada was our guide and he was so nice and knowledgeable. I asked him a million questions and he answered them all so kindly! The food was AMAZING. Fresh sushi, wagyu we cooked ourselves, and I don’t remember the name of the other foods but Japanese “pizza”, fried chicken and calamari balls were how I would describe them. AMAZING! 10/10 recommend! We were also able to book one day before as we realized we needed some guidance. Hamada even got me some moist towelettes with menthol because it was so hot and he noticed I was struggling with the heat! He also took us to a great lookout spot, down hidden Yokocho alleys, and let me shop around Daiso. BOOK NOW, you won’t regret it! Ps- he left us with tasty treats too!

Response from the operator: Hello, Arigato for joining our tour. We are absolutely thrilled to have received your fantastic 5-star review, and we are delighted to have met your expectations. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with future guests! As part of the Japan Local Experience Club family, we are over the moon to hear that you had an amazing time with our top guide, Hamada. Our ultimate goal is to share our love for Japan and its cuisine with our visitors, and we are so happy to have achieved that with you. Thank you for your support, and we can't wait to welcome you back very soon. We have a variety of tours waiting for you, including the Asakusa food tour and the Shinjuku food tour, among others. We are excited about showing you more of what Japan has to offer. Looking forward to seeing you again soon! Arigato, Aya

Shibuya Hidden Flavors A Family Friendly Foodie Tour With Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Shibuya Hidden Flavors A Family Friendly Foodie Tour With Guide cost?

+

Prices start at $127 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Shibuya Hidden Flavors A Family Friendly Foodie Tour With Guide take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Shibuya Hidden Flavors A Family Friendly Foodie Tour With Guide worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Shibuya Hidden Flavors A Family Friendly Foodie Tour With Guide?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Shibuya Hidden Flavors A Family Friendly Foodie Tour With Guide suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Shibuya Hidden Flavors A Family Friendly Foodie Tour With Guide?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Shibuya Hidden Flavors A Family Friendly Foodie Tour With Guide start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

+

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

+

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
