Lovely Locations and Wholesome Fun
This was a very charming tour and a bit off the beaten path. I booked it on a whim and I'm definitely happy that I did. We started out with the trip to the beautiful winter gardens in Auckland. Then we drove some lovely roads to Sheep World! This sheep farm destination is run by a fantastic organization that supports at risk youth in the Auckland area. We got to see some amazing sheepdogs in action and there's a lamb feeding experience as well. Beyond sheep, there were many happy and adorable farm animals (donkeys, alpacas, goats, and even an emu) for people of all ages to feed and admire. From there we traveled to a beautiful Kauri forest for a nice walk we also stopped at a couple of other lovely beach vistas before heading back to Auckland. Our guide was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable; it was great to learn more about the history of Auckland and go to a few places that are not on the normal tourist list! I highly recommend it.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Brenna, for your wonderful five-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’re delighted that you took a chance on our Sheep World & Kauri Forest Excursion and that it turned out to be such a memorable experience. It was a pleasure showing you some of Auckland’s hidden gems — from the beautiful Winter Gardens and the countryside around Sheep World, to the incredible sheepdogs, farm animals and lamb-feeding experience, and finally the magnificent Kauri forest and coastal viewpoints. We’re especially pleased that you enjoyed learning more about Auckland’s history and visiting places that are a little beyond the usual tourist trail. That’s exactly what we love about our tours — creating genuine experiences and sharing the beautiful places and stories that make Auckland and New Zealand so special. Thank you also for recognising our guide. We’ll be sure to pass on your kind words — they mean a great deal to our team. It was an absolute pleasure having you with us, Brenna, and we hope to welcome you back to New Zealand for another adventure with Coast to Coast Tours! 🇳🇿🐑🌿 Warm regards, Peter-John & Lola

Great time
It’s hands on, you can feed the animals so you participate in the activities. It’s for a good cause.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the fantastic 5-star review, Steve! We're delighted you enjoyed the hands-on experience and had the chance to get up close with the animals. What makes the tour even more special is that it supports Springboard, the incredible NGO that runs the farm and provides opportunities for young adults to learn skills, build confidence, and connect with their community. Your support helps make that positive impact possible. We really appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to the farm again soon! 🐑🌱😊

A Joyful Day!
We had a great time exploring outside of Auckland with this tour and our wonderful guide for the adventure, Marama! Sheep World was a joy as well as all the all the other stops along the way, including the enveloping nature walk at Parry Kauri Park and the yummy stop at the honey center. It was lovely way to experience a more diverse sense of New Zealand without spending the whole day outside of Auckland. Marama was an excellent guide, friendly and personable as well as informative. The whole outing for a treat for the soul! Highly Recommend!!
Response from the operator: Hi Barbara, Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! We're delighted to hear that you had such a great time exploring beyond Auckland with Marama. It sounds like you enjoyed a fantastic day, from the delights of Sheep World and the beautiful nature walk through Parry Kauri Park to the sweet stop at the Honey Centre. We're especially pleased that Marama helped make the experience so memorable. Her friendly, personable nature and passion for sharing New Zealand with our guests are qualities we truly value, and she'll be thrilled to hear your kind feedback. We love that the tour gave you a broader taste of New Zealand while still fitting comfortably into your time in Auckland. Describing the experience as "a treat for the soul" is a compliment we truly cherish. Thank you for your recommendation and for choosing to tour with us. We hope to welcome you back for another New Zealand adventure in the future! Warm regards, Peter

Sheep World - exceptional tour.
Great tour. Marama was a fantastic tour guide, she added lots of information and was very personable. Sheep World was a lot more interesting and fun than we expected. Frankie did a great job explaining all things sheep. The stop in the forest was beautiful and the Honey bee stop was very well done, educational and interesting. Would highly recommend this tour.

Great time on tour-
This was a wonderful day. First timers for Aukland and ALAN did a good naration with questions and answers. The countryside was amazing. Sheepworld reminded me of my childhood with all the farm animals and feeding the lambs. Lunch was provided at Sheepland and also was very good. We would recomment it to anyone. Good day!

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.
How much does Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland cost?
+
Prices start at $171 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.
Is Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 75 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland?
+
Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Auckland?
+
On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Auckland?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Auckland?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
