    Great shark viewing experience.

My 15-yr old son and I did this shark diving trip together, and it was amazing! We saw a bunch of bronze whaler sharks up close, a few of which even put their nose a few inches into the cage. The crew does a great job of bringing sharks to the cage so you can view them up close. The crew is helpful and personable, and makes the ride in-out a pleasant one. Would highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic 5-star review! Amazing experience !

What an incredible experience! If you're visiting Cape Town, this is definitely an activity not to miss. The day started with an early pickup by Simon, who was warm, friendly, and made the journey enjoyable from the start. The staff at the dive centre were equally welcoming, and a hot cup of coffee was a nice touch before heading out. We were lucky to have a small group of only six divers, making the experience feel more personal. The crew were professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. The shark dive itself was absolutely unforgettable. The moment we entered the water, sharks appeared all around us, creating an incredible underwater experience. Despite the 11°C water, I quickly forgot about the cold! As an added bonus, we also saw pods of dolphins, seals, and even a whale. A special mention to this charter for providing regulators, which allowed us to stay underwater longer and fully enjoy the experience. Thank you to the entire team for an amazing adventure. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cape Town!

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your wonderful review! :) We're delighted to hear that your experience with us was such a memorable part of your visit to Cape Town. Simon will be especially pleased to hear your kind words, and we're glad he helped start your adventure on the right note. We're most passionate about providing a more personal, small-group experience, so it's fantastic to hear that you enjoyed being part of a smaller group on the dive. Our crew takes great pride in sharing their knowledge and love for the ocean, and feedback like yours means a great and I'll communicate your appreciation to the team. It sounds like False Bay truly put on a show for you! Seeing sharks, dolphins, seals, and even a whale all on the same trip is something very special. We're also pleased that you enjoyed using our hookah regulator system, which allows guests to spend more time comfortably underwater and fully appreciate these incredible animals. Thank you for choosing to join us and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back to False Bay for another adventure in the future!

    The company kept in good...

The company kept in good contact with us before the excursion and helped arrange transportation to them. The outing was fantastic. The crew was great and extremely knowledgeable of the marine life. We encountered a large pod of dolphins numbering in the thousands which was an unbelievable added experience. The time in the cage was great and being that close to the sharks was amazing.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the entire experience, from the pre-trip communication and transport arrangements right through to your time on the water. We know that smooth planning can make all the difference, so we're pleased our team could help make the process easy for you. Encountering a dolphin superpod numbering in the thousands is one of those magical False Bay moments that never gets old, and we're thrilled you were able to witness it firsthand. Combined with close-up shark encounters from the cage, it sounds like you experienced some of the very best of what our bay has to offer. Thank you as well for your kind words about our crew. Sharing our knowledge and passion for the marine environment is a big part of what we do, and it's wonderful to know that it added to your adventure. We truly appreciate your support and hope to welcome you back on board for another unforgettable day at sea! From all of us here at African Shark Eco-Charters

    +

Prices start at R 3,995 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Shark Cage Diving with Scuba in Cape Town take?

    +

Is Shark Cage Diving with Scuba in Cape Town worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 164 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Shark Cage Diving with Scuba in Cape Town?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Shark Cage Diving with Scuba in Cape Town suitable for kids and families?

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Shark Cage Diving with Scuba in Cape Town?

    +

Around 57 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Cape Town?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike, Hike Table Mountain or Lions Head in Cape Town Like a Local, Cape Point and Boulder's Penguins Full Day Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cape Town?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cape Town?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
