What you get

    About this experience

Enjoy authentic Korean market food with no meat, fish, egg, dairy, or honey—perfect for vegans and vegetarians. You’ll taste at least 11 different dishes and drinks, and everything is included in the price. Book now to secure your spot! I created this tour for my vegetarian family visiting from abroad, who struggled to figure out what they could safely eat in Seoul’s markets. I spent over a month in Gwangjang Market before my family came, checking ingredients and talking with each cook until I mapped a route for vegetarians. Since guiding my family, I kept researching and fine-tuning the route. Every stop is now fully plant-based, so both vegetarians and vegans can join with confidence. I handle all ordering and translation, so you can simply enjoy the food and stories. Important note: Gwangjang is a busy working market; some cross-contact or cross-contamination may occur, and the tour is not suitable for strict gluten-free diets or any food allergies.

The culinary highlight of my Seoul trip!

This food/market experience was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Seoul. Jungho met me at the appointed location outside Gwangjang Market, and from there we visited several different stalls and tried an incredible variety of traditional Korean foods prepared vegan. Everything was so fresh and so tasty!! Jungho knows most everyone in the market, and the entire experience was exceptionally well organized. He made sure the spice level was right for me, and he shared fascinating insights not only about each dish, but also about Korean food culture. He made the enormous, bustling market feel much more approachable and accessible as a visitor. Jungho is kind, knowledgeable, and thoroughly professional- a really wonderful person! I highly recommend this tour for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone traveling with them—everyone will leave completely satisfied - very full and very happy!! Thank you Jungho!!

    Carefully curated vegan market tour

Jungho was a friendly and hospitable guide, truly diligent about ensuring that each dish was vegan. (For example, he mentioned he has had to switch tteobokki vendors a few times, as they’ve changed their recipes — he checks before each tour.) We were stuffed by the end of the tour, and we enjoyed trying the alcoholic beverages that were offered as well. We feel more equipped to find vegetarian dishes in the remainder of our time in Korea!

Response from the operator: Hi Kelly! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful and thoughtful review! It was an absolute pleasure having you on the tour. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed all the food and traditional drinks, and that you both left completely stuffed! I hope you make lots of happy and lasting memories during the rest of your time here. Wishing you safe travels and fantastic adventures ahead! Thanks again!

The Best Vegan/Vegetarian Dinner in Seoul!

This tour was phenomenal. Jungho was very professional and prepared with directions, and meeting up with the small group for the tour start outside the market was straightforward. We tasted a total of 15 different foods and drinks, and everything was delicious! The small size of the group was perfect - large enough for a feeling of conviviality around the tables where we stopped for tastings but small enough that it was easy to keep up and hear what Jungho was saying (he is also very good at projecting his voice over the noise of the market). All of the food and drinks are included in the cost of the tour, and you can have as much as you can eat...we all walked away stuffed! We wish we had taken this tour earlier in our trip so that we could have tried the many recommendations we got from others on the tour for vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Seoul. A delightful and delicious way to spend an evening, learn more about Korean food and drink culture, and explore Gwangjang Market. This tour was an absolute highlight of our trip and isn't to be missed!

Response from the operator: Hi Kellan! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a generous and thoughtful review. It was an absolute pleasure hosting you and your wonderful family! I am so thrilled to hear that everyone enjoyed all the different tastings and left completely full. Hearing that our tour was the highlight of your trip means the world to me. I also really appreciated the great questions you asked throughout the evening. I hope you and your family made wonderful memories during the rest of your time in Korea. Wishing you all safe travels and the very best on your future adventures! Thanks again for joining!

Excellent food tour at Gwangjang market!

If you're having one meal in Seoul, have this one! I only have good things to say about this tour, it really was amazing from start to end! Jungho is incredibly dedicated and knowledgable when it comes to the food in the market (very helpful when you're a European with too few language skills to suss it out yourself) and he was an excellent tour guide. Aside from all the delicious food we were treated to, we also got to learn more about Korean eating and drinking culture (and general culture), which I really appreciated. The Gwangjang market is a quite famous place, lots of celebrities have passed through, so it really is sightseeing as well as dinner. With a very friendly tour guide at that! My best recommendation is for you to come hungry to this tour, as there was so many delicious dishes, and many of them. The two hour tour was well worth the price! 100% would do again if I went back to Seoul.

Response from the operator: Hi Karolina! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such an incredible and heartwarming review! It was an absolute pleasure having you on the tour! I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed the wide variety of food and drinks, and that you found the stories about our food and culture engaging and worthwhile. The insightful questions you asked throughout the evening about Korean culture made the experience even more fun and lively for everyone in the group. I also really enjoyed our conversations and learned a lot about the cultural nuances between Korea and Sweden! Whenever you visit Seoul again in the future, I would love to welcome you back anytime! I hope your entire time in Korea was filled with wonderful and happy memories, and I wish you safe travels and fantastic adventures ahead. Thanks again!

Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour (11 Tastings): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seoul.

How much does Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour (11 Tastings) cost?

    +

Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seoul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour (11 Tastings) take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seoul is not rushed.

Is Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour (11 Tastings) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 120 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seoul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour (11 Tastings)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour (11 Tastings) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour (11 Tastings)?

    +

Around 42 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seoul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seoul and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Seoul Vegan & Vegetarian Gwangjang Market Food Tour (11 Tastings) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seoul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Seoul?

    +

On Outty we rank every Seoul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include DMZ Tour: Defector Q&A, Tunnel & Suspension Bridge /Hotel pick up, Best DMZ Tour Seoul: Defector Q&A, 3rd Tunnel & Suspension Bridge, 2026 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best: DMZ Tour from Seoul. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Seoul?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Seoul?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
