Real history
Mr. Chang was a wonderful, knowledgeable tour guide. He started with Korea's beginnings thousands of years ago and brought me up to the 1950s. I won't forget my time with Mr. Chang at Seodaemun Prison History Hall. It reminds me of Auschwitz in more than a few ways. If you're like me and want to experience the history of Korea while visiting Korea, this is it.

Fascinating historical tour
I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in history. Laura was a great guide with a clear passion for the history of the place. After explaining much of the historical and geographical context, she took us through Seodamun prison, the walkway around Dongnimmun arch, the Dilkusha house, and Tapgol park. It was an interesting lens on historical figures and moments representative primarily of early colonial history (1910s and early 1920s), a tragic time of rebellion when Koreans were seeking a voice in the world stage.

Great itinerary! The city tour was truly memorable for us, and our guide, Gina, made every minute enjoyable and informative while ensuring everything ran smoothly. She also knew the perfect spots for photos and helped us take great pictures, making the experience even more special. I preferred the small group tour, as it provided a better experience and allowed us to maximize our time. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-organized and enriching travel experience.

Great history lesson
Gina our tour guide did a very nice job explaining all about the occupancy by the Japanese and the fight for independence which finally came after WWII. Visiting the prison and learning about the way they were tortured and killed put things in prospective.

Our guide, Joseph, was superb!! The tour was longer than I expected. It lasted from 9:50AM to 3PM. I felt exhausted at the end of the trip, but it was worth every minute of it. Joseph is very knowledgeable and friendly. My family had many questions throughout the tour because it was very first time learning about the dark history of Korea for most of us. He answered all of our questions with clarity and never got tired of our many questions. He also gave us detailed instructions on how to navigate the public transportations for us to explore other museums and interesting spots. For the tour, I high recommend everyone who is interested in Korean history and culture to experience it at least once. Though Korea is known for the pop culture, food, K-beauty, there is a very long history of how Koreans have been fending off the invasions from powerful countries and preserving the culture and language to this day. In order to truly appreciate all the Korean stuff, I think we need to understand the history. My family visited the War Memorial Museum the next day to learn more about the Korean War, and this visit was prompted by the Dark History tour. I think it would be great if War Memorial visit is also included to the tour!
