Amazing Winery Tour
Lefty was amazing!! He was so informative and we learned a lot but also laughed a lot! He was so personable and knowledgeable about the wines. He had a great experience and highly recommend Lefty as your guide! We bonded so well as a whole group of strangers and sharing our life experiences over a taste of Santorini!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words. Indeed we had a great time and was a pleasure to have met you all. Makes me more than happy to know that you enjoyed every moment. Wine always bring people together, they start as strangers but end up as friends!

Semi private wine tour - Santorini
We had an amazing morning touring the wine country in Santorini. What made it perfect was our tour guide, Lefteris. He was extremely knowledge and very kind and welcoming. It was very easy to listen to him and have an enjoyable conversation with him throughout the day. The three vineyards we visited were delicious. We loved the elegant atmosphere and had some tasty wine pairings at one of them. It was a great way to see a different side of Santorini - the less touristy side.

great way to spend a day in santorini
lefteris was our host and he was a knowledgeable passionate wine enthusiast that made this day both enlightening and fun. the wineries chosen were all very good. the food at each was also really nice. it’s also a good way to see parts of the island away from the caldera.

sunset wine tour
Astra suites organized for us a private wine tour with the company Blue Shades of Greece. Very friendly guide and comfortable van for us alone. We visited three wineries, tasted wine including small appetizer. The explanations of the wine producers was a bit poor and short, don't expect too much here. On the other hand, our guide's explanations of wine and the island were very detailed, interesting and amusing. On the way we made a stop in an unspectacular bar and tasted beer, this did not quite fit the whole trip. The wineries can also be tasted alone (and much cheaper than on a tour), but the problem is that someone has to drive and therefore can not taste along. The wine tour is suitable for guests who already know the island well and want an extra activity. Not a spectacular tour, but still fun and with lovely wine estates. For those who know the island even less, I would rather recommend a private sunset cruise. The tours are generally very well booked (we were in the high season) and had trouble getting a free place. Therefore, book early.
Response from the operator: Dear sir/madam, We thank your for all of your very kind compliments, yet at the same time we do realise there were some issues during your wine tour we need to address, and we thank you for the opportunity. First of all, by looking the photos you have provided with your review, it seems you had the tour a year ago 2021. In the year 2021 we still had restrictions in msome wineries because of the pandemic. You mention that the individual winery presentation during your tastings at one winery had room for improvement. As you seemed to enjoy our discussions more! Unfortunately that only one winery do not permit this, even though your tour guide was a trained sommelier, it is only allowed in the hands of the winery staff themselves. So we’re pretty sure this was a particular issue at one specific location of the three wineries we visited where your guide was not permitted to accompany you into the tasting at this spesific winery as he did for the other two wineries. Again, unfortunately this is beyond our control. However please do remember we are always more than happy to provide extra information on the wines we taste and to answer any questions about each winery to the best of our ability during our portion of the tour. And we thank you for your understanding of the limits of our participation in the actual tastings. Regarding the beer tasting stop, which takes place at Santorini’s very first local brewery to operate on the island, not just a random bar as you may have thought, we include this (time permitting) as a little bonus stop to our regular winery tour. And while this is a unique and exclusive option that only our wine tour company provides, it is perfectly fine for our guests to opt out of this stop, so please keep in mind it’s totally optional on any tour. Again, we were delighted to have you with us, we thank you for your review, and should you join us again, we are happy to tailor a tour specifically to your party’s needs and desires. Until then, we wish you all the best! Sincerely yours,

Well organized tour, 5 star service
Our tour with Lefty was a highlight of our time in Santorini. Pickup was down to the minute. The van was pristine. One other couple was on the tour with us so it was nice and private. We visited 3 wineries, each very different. Lefty was extremely knowledgeable. I’ve never learned this much on a wine tour before! It really made me appreciate the wine even more. The food pairings were nice, especially at Vassaltis. For a really great experience, and a well-run, stress free tour, book with Blue Shades!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for you kind words and this gives us strength to keep on doing what we love the most.It was our pleasure to have you and met you.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Semi - Private wine tour - Through the grapevine: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.
How much does Semi - Private wine tour - Through the grapevine cost?
+
Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Semi - Private wine tour - Through the grapevine take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.
Is Semi - Private wine tour - Through the grapevine worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Semi - Private wine tour - Through the grapevine?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Semi - Private wine tour - Through the grapevine suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Semi - Private wine tour - Through the grapevine?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Semi - Private wine tour - Through the grapevine start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santorini?
+
On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santorini?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santorini?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
