    Quintessential Italian!

We used MondoGuide for all of our transportation and tours throughout southern Italy and they were fabulous! Our driver picked us up at our hotel and took us on a short ride into the mountains just outside Sorrento where we met Lia, an Italian women who lives in a beautiful villa with her husband. She was our guide and cooking instructor for about 4 hours. She welcomed us into her home and took us through her gardens including lemon and grape orchards and talked about all of the fresh herbs, fruit, and vegetables she grows and uses to make wonderful Italian dishes. We learned to make fresh pasta (there were 6 of us) and we each had the opportunity to make a bit of our own, which she then cooked for our lunch. She demonstrated the entire process, including the preparing and making of 2 pasta sauces, as well as bruschetta. We sat down on her covered outdoor patio and enjoyed the fruits of our labor and finished the meal with some of Lia's homemade Limoncello! At the end of the meal we were each presented with a small gift of lemon soaps and a certificate of completion. Such a wonderful and yummy experience!
