    Ok but not great

The site was useful in identifying areas to visit. Functionality wasn't great and it didn't work fully some of the time. Narratives - 5/10 - quite flamboyant - could have explained more using less words.

Response from the operator: Hi David and thanks for your honest review! I agree, occasionally our narrator describes certain themes in too much length. We are for this reason updating all narratives and stories in the coming weeks. We're really proud about this upgrade so I'll be reaching out to you with a free day's pass to try out the new experience for your next European city getaway. I will also make sure to understand what functionality did not work for you. We test everything daily but edge cases and unlikely deviations can of course occur even for us. I'll be in touch! UPDATED RESPONSE: ALL OUR STORIES ARE NOW UPDATED AND HAVE RECEIVED VERY POSITIVE FEEDBACK. HOPE THAT YOU NOW FEEL THAT THE NARRATIVES ALSO ARE 10/10. WE ARE REALLY PROUD OF THE WORK BEHIND IT!

Was sadly very disappointed with this experience...

First, I had issues with setting up my phone for the experience. I had to download an app & then had issues using the app. This process was made particularly difficult as the links & information provided were difficult to follow & didn’t always open properly or stay open. The whole process was made even harder was travelling with my 84 year old father. Second, when I finally got the experience set up for us both, there was too much information to listen to & it was in ‘podcast style’ with 2 speakers talking. The information was interesting but just too much listen to & in the wrong style for the experience (in my opinion) which made it unsuitable for my Dad. (he ended up taking out his earplugs after the first stop it was just too much for him to take in. Lastly, I found it hard to find where to go to see each stop and do ended up needing to use google maps to find my way around. Given that we did a similar walking tour in a different part of Germany (with a different provider) which we both throughly enjoyed & had zero problems with, we were looking forward to a different experience & were very disappointed by this one, having also paid more for it too! My recommendation to this provider is to firstly make it easier to set up this experience (provide links that work & apps that you don’t need to sign into) reduce content, change format (make it more personal, one speaker only), provide more support to find locations (interactive map) & keep tourist on track (help them if they lose their way) & only talk when tourist is at location. Perhaps this is harder to provide, but is possible & necessary if you want people to use your service. Other than that, Berlin is an amazing city - worth visiting again, but with a different tour guide!

Response from the operator: Hi and thank you for your comprehensive review! However, there is no app download involved in the process (you start straight in your browser with three simple steps), and there is only one narrator for the stories, which leads me to believe that you might be reviewing the wrong audio tour provider? Please reach out to info@trales.io to get this sorted. All the best, Alexander

Berlin trip made perfect with Trales

Visited Berlin with my family who is very interested in history and culture. We used trales as our tour guide wherever we went and were amazed by the huge variety of content (there is pretty much a story for everything you see) and the quality of the stories. This was perfect for a city like berlin where there are so many areas to cover, and we could take our time visiting each one and enjoy high quality guides without having to rush through it or sacrifice discovering some areas, as would have been the case with a normal tour guide set up. Trales really elevated our visit, strongly recommend and worth every penny (still think it is too cheap for its value)

Self-Guided Tours In Berlin With 100 Captivating Audio Stories: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Berlin.

How much does Self-Guided Tours In Berlin With 100 Captivating Audio Stories cost?

    +

Prices start at $4 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Berlin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Self-Guided Tours In Berlin With 100 Captivating Audio Stories take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Berlin is not rushed.

Is Self-Guided Tours In Berlin With 100 Captivating Audio Stories worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Berlin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Self-Guided Tours In Berlin With 100 Captivating Audio Stories?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Self-Guided Tours In Berlin With 100 Captivating Audio Stories suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Self-Guided Tours In Berlin With 100 Captivating Audio Stories?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Berlin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Berlin and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Self-Guided Tours In Berlin With 100 Captivating Audio Stories start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Berlin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Berlin?

    +

On Outty we rank every Berlin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Berlin's Best: 2 Hour Walking Tour Third Reich and the Cold War, Communist East Berlin and Berlin Wall Small Group Walking Tour, Sachsenhausen concentration camp.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Berlin?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Berlin?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
