What you get

    About this experience

Warsaw was 90% destroyed in WWII. Every building you'll see in the Old Town was rebuilt from rubble by ordinary citizens who refused to let their city die. This self-guided audio walking tour on the Tourific app takes you through that story, from the clock tower that stopped when the bombs fell, to the tiny statue of a child soldier wearing an oversized helmet, to a hidden courtyard with a wishing bell that locals swear grants wishes. You'll hear legends of sword-wielding mermaids and a basilisk that terrorised medieval cellars. You'll stand where a shoemaker became a colonel and where a few thousand fighters chose to die on their feet rather than in a gas chamber. Over 500 travellers have walked this route with us, and some have written to say it left them in tears. Start anytime, pause for pierogi at a milk bar, go at your own pace. No group to keep up with, no fixed schedule. Works offline, available in 9 languages, and comes with a full refund guarantee if it's not for you.

    Interesting but easygoing

Very interesting and educational but easy to follow. Easy to downloaf and you can pause anytime if you want to stop for a coffee somewhere.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're so glad the easy pace and flexibility to pause for a coffee stop worked so well for you. Hope to see you on another Tourific walk soon!

Great starting tour, but there is MUCH more to the city's history

Fantastic guide through most the historical sites in Old and new town, but could do better to guide to the tomb of the unknown soldier, POLIN museum (and the other dozens of museums littered throughout the city), and only briefly references the "Royal Route"

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the tour and appreciate your suggestions.

    Awesome experience!

The only way you can't enjoy a self guided tour is if the information that is being shared is noticeably inaccurate. The level of detail and instruction that was provided by the narrator was great. The maps on how to get to where you were supposed to be were great as well as the pictures showing you what you are to be looking at. It was a great experience

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted you had a great experience and found the narration, maps, and photos helpful. We look forward to welcoming you on another tour soon.

Legends and Uprisings on foot in Warsaw

The self-guided Legends abd Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw was good and easy to navigate throughout. We were able to do it at our own pace, stop for lunch and continue our tour afterwards. This was also convenient especially when we had 2 elderly people with us.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the flexibility of exploring Warsaw at your own pace.

    Easy to follow

Great introduction to Warsaw Old Town. The tour worked with no problems and no need for wifi after it downloads. It explains major aspects of Warsaw's history and helps you plan whatelse to see.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the lovely feedback. We're glad you enjoyed exploring Warsaw Old Town and found the tour helpful and reliable.

Self Guided Legends and Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Warsaw.

How much does Self Guided Legends and Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw cost?

    +

Prices start at $9 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Warsaw usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Self Guided Legends and Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Warsaw is not rushed.

Is Self Guided Legends and Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 49 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Warsaw, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Self Guided Legends and Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Self Guided Legends and Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Self Guided Legends and Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw?

    +

Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Warsaw can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Warsaw and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Self Guided Legends and Uprisings Walking Tour of Warsaw start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Warsaw within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Warsaw?

    +

On Outty we rank every Warsaw experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Discover the Dark Side of Warsaw in Praga District by Retro Bus, Private Tour: Warsaw City Sightseeing by Retro Fiat, Warsaw for WWII Buffs - private tour with hotel pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Warsaw?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Warsaw?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
