    No beer tour

Although we enjoyed seeing the sights of Munich we were disappointed that the tour was quite basic. We were expecting brewery tours and sampling their beers . All it was was just a walk , stop, walk, stop and have a beer if we could find a seat at the pub. We completed the tour but then ended up in a bar we found on the way which was not on the list!!! In all the tour showed us lots of places we would not have found ourselves so that part was good but I think this could have been so much better if guided and stops included.

Response from the operator: Dear Richard, Thank you for your review. For those reading this review, Richard booked a self-guided tour through our mobile app, not an in-person guided food and beer tour. This tour is a self-guided historical walking tour of Munich. It provides information about the city's history, its famous breweries, local traditions, and the role beer culture has played in Munich's development over the centuries. The app guides visitors through the city, explains brewery customs, introduces traditional monastic breweries, and shares stories about local landmarks and beer halls. The tour also explains interesting aspects of Bavarian beer culture, such as traditional seating customs, the history of personal beer steins, and the origins of Munich's brewing traditions. As clearly stated in the tour description, this is not a food or beer tasting tour, and no food or drinks are included. Guests are welcome to stop at any of the recommended breweries, beer halls, or restaurants along the route and purchase food and beverages according to their own preferences. Unfortunately, even in 2026, smartphones can guide you through a city and tell you fascinating stories, but they are not yet able to serve a beer through the screen. Perhaps one day technology will advance that far! At that time, we will definitely provide Richard with a robot, who will guide and serve beer :) Dear Richard, we spent considerable time assisting you with the installation and setup of the app and were always happy to help. We would have been equally happy to answer any questions about what was or was not included in the tour before your visit. We always encourage our guests to read the tour description carefully and contact us with any questions. We are happy to help and want every visitor to choose the experience that best matches their expectations. Best wishes, Anna

    Great Travel Option

We appreciated the ease with which we could access and use the information in this recorded tour at our pace and leisure. The tour company was very excellent with its service—answering questions, assisting with the download, and reaching out before our travels to Munich to double-check on us. Anna, the company’s owner, was helpful, kind, and professional.

Well worth the. Dry reasonable price.

Our guide was well informed and fun. The brewery museum was interesting. Dinner was very good and plenty of food was provided. We couldn’t finish our serving. Then of course there was beer!

Self-guided Beer-Tour of Munich: Main Sights, Beer & Breweries: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.

How much does Self-guided Beer-Tour of Munich: Main Sights, Beer & Breweries cost?

    +

Prices start at $32 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Self-guided Beer-Tour of Munich: Main Sights, Beer & Breweries take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.

Is Self-guided Beer-Tour of Munich: Main Sights, Beer & Breweries worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Self-guided Beer-Tour of Munich: Main Sights, Beer & Breweries?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Self-guided Beer-Tour of Munich: Main Sights, Beer & Breweries suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Self-guided Beer-Tour of Munich: Main Sights, Beer & Breweries?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Self-guided Beer-Tour of Munich: Main Sights, Beer & Breweries start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Munich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Munich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Munich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
