    Brief, forgettable, not scary

Lkrs soundwalkr: ghosts of madrid this is one of the first ghost tours I have done of this kind. the format was that I purchased it on TripAdvisor and I was given a code which I entered into an app called soundwalkr. to speak on the app interface briefly, I appreciate it how when I reached a certain destination the next section of the audio automatically began playing. that was really cool. however I encountered more difficulty with the app than good fortune. at one point the app forgot that I had entered in a code and so it now required me to re-enter my purchase code. this proved to be a major glitch because I was in a location without Wi-Fi so I could not easily access the purchase code. eventually I was able to get a Wi-Fi signal and then I was able to reconnect with TripAdvisor to get my code and re-enter it into the app. but this bug pause my tour for at least 10 minutes right in the middle of it and was a major frustration point for everyone in my group. the tour itself included six brief stories at six different locations each narrated in a simple five to seven minute audio file. the audio files were extremely well produced with high quality sound effects and background music. the voice was in English and quite clear. the stories themselves were quite lackluster. given an audio file of maybe 5 minutes or so, the majority of each audio file was waiting and creepy sound effects. the actual Story Probably amounted to maybe 2 minutes or so. extremely brief in my experience. I found they often lack the creepy factor that would cause me to get tingles on the spine. and writing this review a day later I must admit that there are none I can recall. overall the narratives are what I come for on these sorts of Tours and so the story quality alone has significantly sunk my rating for this experience. ultimately I would not recommend this experience at this time. I definitely think $10 is and excessive price per person however it is quite fair in this case considering I was able to download it only on my device and then play it aloud for everyone in my party. technical issues aside, the content of this store does not justify the time it takes to listen to it. I would advise you pursue other experiences.

Response from the operator: We are sorry to hear you do not recommend the experience and our product did not reach your expectations. We would love to know the other ghost tours you have so we can improve. Our award winning 3D sound effects and quality of narrators make our tours unique, we would like to invite you to experience another tour. Thanks for your feedback and we will consider all your notes for our tech team to review.

A fun, simple and unique way to do a walking tour

Guys this is EXACTLY what you expect - a self-guided ghost tour. I can't believe the other person rated this poorly because they don't know how to read. It is quite fun and unique. I took my girlfriend on it because I didn't want to do the boring normal walking tour, I wanted something with a little more pizazz. What could be better (AKA advice for the creator) is: work on your Spanish pronunciation, it made us giggle. Make sure you use inflection at the right parts - your voice put emphasis on some random moments which also made us giggle. Develop the stories a bit more - I particularly liked the story of the 7 chimneys because it was believable, informative and interesting. And finally, if you really want to instill terror into your audience, ditch the made up footage/recordings - I can't suspend my belief that much.

Response from the operator: Orielle Thank you so much for your feedback, we have forwarded your comments to our creative team and we find it very valuable. We are also glad you enjoyed touring the Ghost of Madrid!

Disappointment, not tickets but still audio guide to go down the street

Frankly disappointing experience. We feel cheated. It is only an audio guide, with induces deception by focusing it as a flexible ticket purchase We arrived at the palace of Linares, with our four entrances, with the intention of entering and it was closed. That’s when you realize that they are not entries but only a download of the audio file. For more snooze, we had phoned to confirm entrance hours in the palace and we were confirmed flexible hours but that the performance show of those who lived in the palace was suspended. I hope it will serve potential buyers of these “tickets”

Response from the operator: Lamentamos que no hayas leído apropiadamente nuestra oferta de producto.

A chilling and fun journey at once

The stories were very chilling as the narrator expressed himself in a way that caught your eye at every moment. The sensory sounds are perfectly adapted so that we get directly into each of the stories presented by the buildings of Madrid. I definitely recommend this tour if you want to have a fun and spooky time at the same time.

Response from the operator: Gracias que bueno que te hayas atrevido a conocer las historias del más allá en Madrid ! Muchísimas Gracias por tu review! Nos encantaría llevarte en otros recorridos en otras ciudades!

Self-Guided Audio Tour - Ghosts of Madrid: History and terror: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Self-Guided Audio Tour - Ghosts of Madrid: History and terror cost?

    +

Prices start at $11 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Self-Guided Audio Tour - Ghosts of Madrid: History and terror take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Self-Guided Audio Tour - Ghosts of Madrid: History and terror worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Self-Guided Audio Tour - Ghosts of Madrid: History and terror?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Self-Guided Audio Tour - Ghosts of Madrid: History and terror suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Self-Guided Audio Tour - Ghosts of Madrid: History and terror?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Self-Guided Audio Tour - Ghosts of Madrid: History and terror start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
