About this experience

Description If you do not have a professional diving certificate, the price includes accompaniment with an instructor, or if you have a PADI certificate, our instructors will indicate the areas where you can get the most out of your dives. In this diving tour on Catalina Island we will make two dives: 1. “El Muro” It is one of the most interesting points, where we will descend through an authentic orchard with an average depth of 3 meters, covered with sponges, corals, and very colorful tropical marine fauna, until we reach the impressive wall of more than 100 meters deep, with the first step of 25 meters and a second of 40 meters. 2. “El Acuario” Due to its unbeatable climatic conditions, we will be able to dive without difficulty and explore the underwater paradises, in addition to the remains of artillery from old colonial shipwrecks.

Crazy drive but a great excursion.

The crew was excellent and entertaining. The guid did a great job identifying the unique sea life and making sure we saw them (ie the sea horses). The transportation from the hotel was a little sketchy but the company did a great job of communicating who was picking me up. This made me feel more comfortable even though I struggle with Spanish.

Fish are scarce

The dive masters were friendly and good at pointing out anything that might not have been seen otherwise. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of fish to look at.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review and for sharing your diving experience with us! We are delighted to hear that our instructors were able to make your dive even more enriching, highlighting the details that make the underwater world such a special place. Their kindness and expertise are our greatest pride. We sincerely regret that the marine life wasn't as abundant as you had hoped during your trip. The presence of fish and other species can vary greatly due to seasonal factors, sea conditions, and the natural dynamics of ecosystems, which are unfortunately beyond our control. Nevertheless, we greatly appreciate your feedback. We invite you to give us another opportunity in a future season. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to guide you underwater again to offer you an even more complete experience. Best regards!

Don’t do it

Scuba was okay. The trip was horrible van stopped on the side of the road multiple time where hoards of salesmen surrounded you and tried to put things in your hands. And to top it off they did not drop off at my resort. They stopped the van on the side of the road outside the gate where I then had to was 4 miles to my resort. .

Response from the operator: Dear Mr. Allen, We see that, after your refund request was denied, you chose to post a review. We would like to clarify a few points: it is not good to spread misinformation, much less to tell lies. You were never the target of any attempted robbery; if there's one thing this country is known for, it's taking great care of tourists. If they do that in your country, they don't here. While passengers are with us, they are always safe, so the claim that they tried to rob you is simply untrue. This whole situation stems from the refusal to refund you $69, which you requested without any justification, since we provided the service you requested. As for being dropped off 4 miles from your hotel, that is also untrue. It's a blatant lie, because anyone who has stayed at the Barceló hotel knows that the hotel is right at the main entrance, and that you can easily access any of the other hotels along the road. You were taken directly to the entrance of your hotel. This hotel does not allow access to external providers, which is why you were dropped off at the main entrance, next to hotel security, and not 4 miles away as you claim. We explained the service you were paying for, which was diving, and you wanted a refund of $69 because you were dropped off at the main entrance of your hotel. Sincerely,

Easy dive to lots of underwater treasures

Great and very easy diving. Out guide pointed out some great features, including rays and stone fish. Diving is shallow, 12-20 meters, with little current. Good palce for beginners.

Book this now!

Another great experience in Punta Cana. Great value for money. The only thing I would suggest is maybe better “lunch” options. Still 5 stars.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience

Scuba Diving on Catalina Island | 2 tanks, 2 spots: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Scuba Diving on Catalina Island | 2 tanks, 2 spots cost?

+

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Scuba Diving on Catalina Island | 2 tanks, 2 spots take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Scuba Diving on Catalina Island | 2 tanks, 2 spots worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Scuba Diving on Catalina Island | 2 tanks, 2 spots?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Scuba Diving on Catalina Island | 2 tanks, 2 spots suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Scuba Diving on Catalina Island | 2 tanks, 2 spots?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Scuba Diving on Catalina Island | 2 tanks, 2 spots start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

+

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
