Exceptional POOR COMMUNICATION and notification.
Hired an Uber from our resort to Meeting place (Historic Museum) and waited 40 minutes in 109 degrees… Viator notified us AFTER THE START TIME that our tour was canceled! Ruined entire evening. Hired another Uber to return to our resort. $50.00 extra transport costs, but Viator offers only our original payment back. So frustrating.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Robert, for sharing your perspective. We do appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind as we continue refining the guest experience. Please know that we only cancel a tour when it is extremely necessary due to unforeseen circumstances affecting the tour, and in those cases, guests are fully refunded. Still, we would welcome the opportunity to have you join us again and provide a better experience next time.

Take this tour!
This was one of the best food tours I've taken. Christopher was so nice and very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurants, the town, and the food. The foods were al so delicious! We were so full by the end of the tour, we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. Take this tour, it's fabulous!
Response from the operator: Earline, this made our day, thank you for spending part of your trip with us in Scottsdale. Hearing that you left full and happy, with a little history and a lot of good food along the way, is exactly what we hope for. We'd love to welcome you back to Secret Food Tours next time you're in town!

Do this!
Our guide, Christopher R. was very knowledgeable and gave great insight during the walking portion as well as while at each eating establishment. The food choices were varied and all good! I’d recommend!
Response from the operator: We’re glad you chose to spend part of your time in the city with us! Secret Food Tours was created for exactly these kinds of days, when good food and local places become part of exploring somewhere new. Thank you for being our guest.

Munching and Drinking in Old Town Scottsdale
Save room in your stomach and miles on your most comfortable shoes. You'll be eating and walking around Old Scottsdale while taking in history. We experienced different cuisine (Indian, Native American, Mexican, American +) which was tasty...even for me as I'm an extremely picky eater. Even if you're not into alcohol, there were some non-alcoholic options. Christopher, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the tour thoroughly. Unfortunately, the weather was EXTREMELY hot, so choose yiur days wisely. Best thing was to drink water at every stop.
Response from the operator: A city can be experienced in many ways, and we’re happy you chose to see some of it with us. Your time with Secret Food Tours gave us the chance to share a few of the places that make this destination special. We’re glad you were along for it!

Very Good
Very good experience. Our guide, Christopher was a gem who was very knowledgeable and relatable. The food experience was mostly good. One restaurant, which provided a salad and Brussel sprouts, was very good, but there was only 1 bowl each for 10 people. We were asked to take only 1 spoonful of each. This was a bit disappointing, given the price we paid. Otherwise we felt like the dishes and portion sizes were reasonable. Another recommendation was to do a walking loop, rather than walking from the furthest point back to the starting point. This was great except for the 115 degree heat.
Response from the operator: We appreciated having you with us. It's always nice to know Secret Food Tours helped make someone's visit that little bit more enjoyable. We've also noted your added thoughts as we continue to refine the experience. We hope to see you again.

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Scottsdale Old Town Food Tour of Hidden Gems with 6 Food Tastings: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Scottsdale.
How much does Scottsdale Old Town Food Tour of Hidden Gems with 6 Food Tastings cost?
+
Prices start at $108 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Scottsdale usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Scottsdale Old Town Food Tour of Hidden Gems with 6 Food Tastings take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Scottsdale is not rushed.
Is Scottsdale Old Town Food Tour of Hidden Gems with 6 Food Tastings worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 155 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Scottsdale, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Scottsdale Old Town Food Tour of Hidden Gems with 6 Food Tastings?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Scottsdale Old Town Food Tour of Hidden Gems with 6 Food Tastings suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Scottsdale Old Town Food Tour of Hidden Gems with 6 Food Tastings?
+
Around 54 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Scottsdale can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Scottsdale and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Scottsdale Old Town Food Tour of Hidden Gems with 6 Food Tastings start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Scottsdale within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Scottsdale?
+
Scottsdale pairs polished Old Town food, art and nightlife tours with hard desert adventure: Jeep runs through the Tonto, hot air balloons at dawn, horseback rides and e-bike routes along the greenbelt. Operator permits decide which trails a tour can actually reach, so we look closely at route detail. On Outty we rank every Scottsdale experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pedal Bar Crawl of Old Town Scottsdale, Sonoran Desert Jeep Tour at Sunset, Small-Group or Private Grand Canyon with Sedona Tour from Phoenix. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Scottsdale?
+
November to April, with dawn departures through the summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Scottsdale?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
