Excellent job pairing us...
Excellent job pairing us with a guide for this experience. Michael was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information well before our trip including recommendations on where to stay. Scotch was only part of the experience! His historical knowledge of Edinburgh was exceptional.
Response from the operator: It's fantastic to know that Michael's recommendations, local knowledge, and passion for Edinburgh helped make your visit even more memorable. We're especially pleased that you enjoyed learning about Edinburgh's rich history and that Michael's historical knowledge added so much value to the experience. As you said, Scotch was only part of the journey! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such thoughtful feedback, and we hope to welcome you on another experience in the future.

Great Tour and Amazing Guide
Cal was awesome and so knowledgeable about whisky and scotch. He curated the tour to our needs, and was very friendly. I appreciated how he had already prepared with the venues to be ready for our large size and the fact that we had a baby with us. We ended the tour at a BYOB Indian restaurant which was awesome. Thank you so much for the experience!!!
Response from the operator: We’re so glad you had such a fun and thoughtfully organized experience exploring the whisky and scotch scene! It’s wonderful to hear how well everything was tailored for your group, including the little one — thank you for sharing this memorable experience.

Jill was very nice but we...
Our guide was very nice but we didn’t get as much knowledge about actual scotches. When we booked this, we were under the impression that we would learn a lot about various brands and the process of making scotches, rather than just figuring out what to drink. She was great in telling us about the city and whatnot but it was not what we expected. We were booked originally with someone else and that fell through close to our excursion date. Maybe the company couldn’t find the right replacement and had more of a city guide take his place. All in all, we learned more about scotches in a liquor store.
Response from the operator: Hello Olivia, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed your host and appreciated the insights she shared about the city. However, we’re sorry the experience didn’t fully meet your expectations regarding learning about scotches. Due to unforeseen circumstances, your original host was unavailable at the last minute, which may affect the focus of the experience. We truly appreciate your feedback and will use it to help improve future experiences. Thank you again for your thoughts, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide a more tailored experience for you in the future. Warm regards, Sheenah and the City Unscripted team

We did a private whisky...
We did a private whisky tour with Brian and we had a great tour of Ediburgh. Went to a distillery, a few pubs and sampled various whiskies. Would highly recommend Brian for any tour he has.
Response from the operator: It sounds like a perfect day, distillery visits, pub stops, and plenty of whisky tasting! Thank you so much for your kind review! We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!

Scotch Tour Edinburgh with a Local Expert: Private & 100% Personalized: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.
How much does Scotch Tour Edinburgh with a Local Expert: Private & 100% Personalized cost?
+
Prices start at $96 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Scotch Tour Edinburgh with a Local Expert: Private & 100% Personalized take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.
Is Scotch Tour Edinburgh with a Local Expert: Private & 100% Personalized worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Scotch Tour Edinburgh with a Local Expert: Private & 100% Personalized?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Scotch Tour Edinburgh with a Local Expert: Private & 100% Personalized suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 21. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Scotch Tour Edinburgh with a Local Expert: Private & 100% Personalized?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Scotch Tour Edinburgh with a Local Expert: Private & 100% Personalized start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?
+
On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe and The Highlands, Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe & Fort William, Edinburgh Ghost Tour: Mysteries, Legends and Murders. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Edinburgh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
