Great experience learning more about how to cook local dishes in HaNoi
I have had the pleasure of enjoying delicious local dishes at various eateries with locals, but this was my very first time I got to learn and cook them myself. I had to say "wow" when I went on a tour of the local market to buy the freshest ingredients and then headed to a class held at an old villa. We cooked under the guidance of a chef who was amazing and knowledgeable about each dish. As we cooked, he told us stories related to the ingredients. The atmosphere in the class was incredibly friendly and warm. We ended the class with a unique Hanoi coffee – egg coffee made by the chef himsel. I will definitely recommend this to my friends so they can join when they visit Vietnam.
Response from the operator: We appreciate your review and are happy to hear you found the tour enjoyable. It’s great to know that the chef’s stories and the warm atmosphere made your time memorable! Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we look forward to welcoming your friends when they visit Vietnam.

An absolutely delightful experience with lots of wines
It was an absolutely delightful experience! The menu featured Bun Cha, fried spring rolls, banana flower salad with beef, and a selection of different wines. Each dish we prepared was bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, guiding us through each step with clear instructions and helpful tips. Making Bun Cha was a highlight, and learning the traditional techniques really brought the dish to life. The fried spring rolls were crispy and delicious, and the banana flower salad with beef was a unique and refreshing dish that I can't wait to recreate at home. The wine pairings were a lovely touch, enhancing the flavors of each course and making the experience even more enjoyable. The class was well-organized, fun, and engaging, perfect for both beginners and more experienced cooks. Overall, I highly recommend this cooking class to anyone interested in exploring Vietnamese cuisine.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your glowing review! We’re glad to hear you had an absolutely delightful experience with our cooking class. It’s wonderful to know that the Viet food with our wine pairings, added such a special touch to your culinary journey. Your recommendation means a lot to us. We look forward to welcoming you back for another taste of Vietnamese cuisine in the future!

Mekong River traditional lunch and cultural tour
Our trip in the Mekong River started early with a nice private van pickup and we made a stop at a cool restaurant along the way offering traditional items. The short trip across the river was exciting and safe. Then at the village we were shown traditional candy making and we also observed the local Vietnamese village. we were treated with a refreshing snack of fruits with local musicians providing background music. The lunch was great, it was sumptuous even for a family of 6. The guide Jun was very knowledgeable and made the tour pleasant. Katie Nguyen of UpTravel provided seamless communication and was very patient and accommodating, which allowed for last minute adjustments to our private tour. Even for requesting additional Saigon Dinner Cruise activity. She made our trip hassle free and enjoyable.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re thrilled that your Mekong River adventure was so enjoyable from start to finish. Jun’s expertise and Katie Nguyen’s attentive planning are highlights we’re proud of, and we’re delighted that the trip met your family’s expectations. Your kind words and detailed feedback mean a lot to us, and we look forward to helping you create more memorable experiences in the future!

Savor the traditional & authentic Vietnamese Lunch or Dinner at local villa: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Savor the traditional & authentic Vietnamese Lunch or Dinner at local villa cost?
+
Prices start at $12 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Savor the traditional & authentic Vietnamese Lunch or Dinner at local villa take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Savor the traditional & authentic Vietnamese Lunch or Dinner at local villa worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Savor the traditional & authentic Vietnamese Lunch or Dinner at local villa?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Savor the traditional & authentic Vietnamese Lunch or Dinner at local villa suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Savor the traditional & authentic Vietnamese Lunch or Dinner at local villa?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Savor the traditional & authentic Vietnamese Lunch or Dinner at local villa start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi, Hanoi Cooking Class: Culture, Local Market & Community Care, Hanoi Motorbike Tour: Food, Culture and Fun by Vintage Motorbike. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
