  1. Quepos

Tour description Consider one of the cleanest rivers in Central America; the Savegre is an authentic family adventure: relaxation and pure action while enjoying the fantastic landscapes. This adventure starts with an early drive south of Quepos on our a/c minibus. It takes 1 ½ hours through African oil plantations, teak reforestation projects and incredible landscapes to the river put-in. After a safety briefing we start maneuvering rapids like “Welcome” “Rita” “Oh God” “Piñata” “Devil’s Mouth” and “Rollercoaster”, afterwards, we will stop at a gorgeous waterfall where you can swim and enjoy a snack of fresh fruits and cookies to then continue our river journey. Before the end we hit “Gringo Eater” and “Santo Domingo” rapid and then the river tames down until we meet with our mini bus. A 15 minute drive will take us where a hot Costa Rican meal will be served on your table. After lunch is a 30 minute drive back to Quepos.

Adventure on the river rapids

Really fun well planned trip. We had an amazing time and really enjoyed it ! All ages enjoyed !! We had a large group of 17 people on 3 rafts . The scenery was incredible and the waterfalls and rapids were amazing. We enjoyed the riverside fruit, cookies drinks and chips our guides brought for us. Eric , Lando ,Leo, and team expertly navigated us through the rapids and a day we will never forget .

A must do!

We are a group of 8 (4 adults, 3 teens, and 11 y/o) and we all had an amazing time! The whole team was great but special kudos to Landon and Flippy who are very talented and super patient with our group. There is also a photographer, Joshua, that took some pretty incredible action photos to memorialize our perfect day. The guides prepared a special snack for our group and even had ice cold beer for the adults. We felt safe the whole time and would recommend this company and guides to anyone interested in rafting while in beautiful Costa Rica!

Great rafting experience!

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) took a tour with Christopher (Flippy!) and had a fantastic time! Level 2 was the right amount of thrills for our family! The almost hour drive up to where we start was very bumpy, but Flippy fed us all kinds of information about the terrain, culture and weather to keep us entertained. The rafting was so much fun! It even started raining but we didn’t care because we were having a blast. We stopped for some snacks and Landon took some family pictures. We ended the trip at a restaurant for lunch!

Awesome rafting trip

Eric was exceptional guide. Felt like he was taking care of family. Great snacks at a beautiful waterfall. Lando did a great job taking pictures and bringing humor to the trip

Savegre River Rafting Private Trip from Manuel Antonio: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quepos.

How much does Savegre River Rafting Private Trip from Manuel Antonio cost?

+

Prices start at $146 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quepos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Savegre River Rafting Private Trip from Manuel Antonio take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quepos is not rushed.

Is Savegre River Rafting Private Trip from Manuel Antonio worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 66 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quepos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Savegre River Rafting Private Trip from Manuel Antonio?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Savegre River Rafting Private Trip from Manuel Antonio suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Savegre River Rafting Private Trip from Manuel Antonio?

+

Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quepos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quepos and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Savegre River Rafting Private Trip from Manuel Antonio start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quepos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quepos?

+

On Outty we rank every Quepos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whitewater Rafting Savegre Class II-III plus Waterfall Manuel Antonio, Manuel Antonio Canopy Tour - Longest Twin Zip Line in Central America, Waterfall Ziplining & Canyoning. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quepos?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quepos?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
