Today, about 15 fishery companies and fresh fish stores line Nijo Market, selling the freshest seafood purchased that day. Crabs, hokke, scallops, and other seafood are lined up in a dazzling array. Each store sells different kinds of seafood, and it is fun to compare them. There are also about six sushi restaurants, seafood rice bowls, and aburi-yaki (grilled seafood) restaurants.
