Disappointed Experience
We were really looking forward to our trip, hoping to learn more about the Hmong people and their culture while enjoying a comfortable stay at Sapa May Homestay. However, our experience with the tour did not meet our expectations at all. First of all, let’s talk about the tour guide. Although she was friendly, she lacked adequate training in hospitality and tourism. She seemed a bit distant and did not engage much in conversation. While she did share some interesting information, it was very limited and often only provided in response to questions from our group members. In addition, our group found it challenging to keep up with her pace. We trekked for 4 to 5 hours straight from Hanoi, but she walked quickly and rarely looked back to check on us. We had no idea where we were or what areas we had walked past. When we finally arrived at the homestay, the heat was so intense that we could barely function. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning, and the fans were old and dusty—there was just one fan in the large dining area. Our room was rundown and could really use some maintenance. The mattress was old, and the sheet was so scratchy and sticky. The room was scorching hot, making it extremely difficult to get any sleep. Though the view was lovely, the combination of the heat and limited amenities significantly affected our experience.

Amazing 2D1N sapa trip
I did a 2D1N trekking and motorbike trip in Sapa organized by guide Hung, and it was honestly one of the highlights of my Vietnam trip. From start to finish, everything was arranged seamlessly! transport, trekking route, bike guide, accommodation, and meals. Hung took care of all the details so I could just focus on enjoying the experience. The trek (not Fansipan) itself was easy yet beautiful, with stunning views of villages. The accommodation arranged for the night was comfortable, clean, and had an amazing local vibe. The food was another highlight — fresh, authentic, and generously served. You really feel well taken care of. What I appreciated most was how smooth and stress-free the entire experience was. Hung genuinely cares about making sure you have a great time and adjusts the pace and plan to suit you. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a well-organised, authentic Sapa trekking experience with a great guide. Would 100% do it again!
Response from the operator: Thank you for trusting and choosing our products. Hopefully, our service will help you have the best experience. We hope you will continue to support us in the future.

Why this scores 84
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sapa Hiking Tour: 2-Day Trek & Ethnic Homestay: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sapa.
How much does Sapa Hiking Tour: 2-Day Trek & Ethnic Homestay cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sapa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sapa Hiking Tour: 2-Day Trek & Ethnic Homestay take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sapa is not rushed.
Is Sapa Hiking Tour: 2-Day Trek & Ethnic Homestay worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 73 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sapa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sapa Hiking Tour: 2-Day Trek & Ethnic Homestay?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sapa Hiking Tour: 2-Day Trek & Ethnic Homestay suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sapa Hiking Tour: 2-Day Trek & Ethnic Homestay?
+
Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sapa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sapa and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sapa Hiking Tour: 2-Day Trek & Ethnic Homestay start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sapa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sapa?
+
On Outty we rank every Sapa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sapa 2 Days 1 Night From Hanoi - Overnight in Ta Van Village, Glass Bridge, Cat Cat Village, Moana, Alpine Coaster Sapa Tour, Sapa 1 day trek with local guide to the village by Comlam. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sapa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sapa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
