Basic facilities and lots of trekking

I had 2 different guides for the 3D2N. Chiu and Lala were good guides and tried to be helpful but it was a bit unsettling when you didn’t have information on the next day and instructions were not given properly! I did not know I had to pack a separate light bag for the home stay and had to do packing on the spot. Sapa Vista hotel was also very very basic with no TV and situated next to a dump site. It was close to Cat Cat village though and one could see the Mountain Views.

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your feedback For 2 day 1 night group tour we will have 2 guides. The second day the tour guide will pick up around 8:30AM. You booked the option Sapa 3 Days Trekking Tour (1 Night in Bungalow in rural villages, 1 Night In 3 star Hotel in Sapa town). We should leave big lugggage in Hanoi, especially you have an overnight tour. Sapa is a mountainous area, the service is basic, does not like it in city such as Hanoi. If you want to upgrade hotel in Sapa, we can check it for you with extra fee. We will check and note with the tour guides and crew to improve Thanks again for joining us. Have a nice time in Vietnam! Best regards, Luong

Fantastic views and guide, Comms not so much

We had a great time in Sapa. The pick up from the hotel in Hanoi was smooth and on time and the 6h coach ride to Sapa was comfortable with a couple of stops at well-appointed transit stops. When we arrived we were a little discomfited that there was no-one to meet us but luckily we had a Viettel simcard so could WhatsApp to let them know we had arrived. The hotel room was fine withbanstunning view across the valley. The walk to Cat Cat village was easy and interesting. Our guide, "Shung", walked with us and we chose the "adventure" paths which were a little more challenging but nothing an averagely fit person couldn't handle with free time in the afternoon for a nap. The views of the rice terraces were stunning and well worth the visit. Food was basic Vietnamese as expected and tasted fine. The Homestay in a private bungalow was very nice and it was great to chat to others. On the last day we got a taxi back from the end of the walk and hopped on the bus back with no problems. We were sad to leave Sapa, Shung and her baby Vi behind!
