LEFT US AT A GAS STATION!!! Terrible company! Unsafe equipment, unorganized FROM START TO FINISH! Pick a different tour!

I have never done a review before so it's so bad to make me do this! I'll try to make this short and hit key points. Please READ EVERYTHING! DONT BUY THIS! Absolutely disorganized from start to finish, First you pay for transportation, they send you people that don't have proper access to resorts so we were scrambling to find a ride to the front gate since it was so early and driver couldn't enter. Next they take us to a gas station where we are taken off the van, to sit and wait with no direction of why we are here, 100s of people just running around crowed having no idea what's going on and then rushed on the a bus 20 mins later where multiple people has to get off since they were on the wrong one..(disorganized) You get to the boats area which is a complete mess, over 30 beach people trying to sell you the same things bothering you and pestering you for what feels like forever as you just sit in unshaded beach area getting destroyed by the sun sweating while waiting in line to get on boats, which people are switching boats pulling them out switching "hosts" just terrible. Next the ride would have been fun since we were one of the lucky ones that didn't break down half way to the island....but it wasn't fun since my LIFE JACKET DIDNT HAVE BUCKLES!!... they literally put the belt through a broken buckle and just tied it, such an unprofessional appearance and extremely unsafe! Only positive was beach was beautiful! Water was amazing, food was terrible no care to cover the buffet style food just letting flys sit on food until someone comes to get a plate and oooo best part none of the sales people have CHANGE! (supposedly) Lol such a joke. The ride back was fine but so long and pretty annoying since they go slow to try and sell the photos to everyone! Our ride back took almost 2 hours no joke so travel time almosted doubled the time we spent out at the Beach! Terrible experience! BEST PART IS NEXT PLEASE READ THIS!! So once that long nightmare is over we finally get to our bus which we had to find OURSELVES because our tour guide was more worried about selling photos then telling us the next guy we had to meet with smh. At this point we are on our 4th person...like what!?? Anyway! We AGAIN arrive at a gas station and a NEW PERSON jumps on and says something about this being our stop so a bunch of us get off and then he says ooooo no you guys are needing to stay on bus and wait for next transport, we and a few others say ok we are going to use the bathroom and come back to bus. I the husband is sitting outside the bathroom waiting for my esposa to come out and next thing you know they close the door on the bus and just drive off as soon as the other person using the bathroom came back to the bus.....no count was done, no coming to see if anyone was in the store...NOTHING JUST LEFT AND QUICKLY! UNACCEPTABLE. Thank God my wife speaks Spanish and we are young because what if we were old and didn't speak the language? Not to mention our phones were dead!! Just absolutely ruined our day after the beach was what kind of saved it! Oooo and you may ask well what did the company do to make this right or help you in this situation? If you choose if ignored you and won't respond to messages for 500 you are right Alex! Because exactly what return a call or a message but they were responding to everything before i showed how unsafe and unprofessional their tour is! I know this was long but I'm trying to save someone from this trash company.

Disorganized chaos but beautiful

To start the day we were picked up by a nice van, just my wife and I. We drove 10 minutes to a gas station and they told us to go inside and wait for few minutes… weird but okay. Then our driver who spoke little to no English left without telling us anything. Then more people going to the island showed up and we were all told to get on another bus. Then we were driven to a souvenir store for people to buy stuff for 10 minutes.after the hour bus ride we arrive at a harbor that was utter chaos. There were easily 500 people in the harbor waiting for their boat to the island. Our guides had us wait at a convenience store for our group to be called. At this time we had 1 guide that willingly translated what he was saying to English (even though this tour is listed as having an English guide). After 45 minutes of waiting our guides start yelling and walking us all to the loading area. We then get on a boat and the guide is giving directions to us in Spanish. Luckily a person on the tour translated for us. We arrived at the natural pool and they brought rum and coke around 1 time and everyone just stood around until the camera guys came and made us take photos to sell us later. Once we got back on the boat to the island, they stopped 50-60 yards off the beach to “ask” for tips. The crew-mate walked down the middle of the tiny ass boat and stopped in front of every couple to get a tip. I didn’t have my wallet ready (because I wasn’t planning on tipping his terrible service) but he stood in-front of my wife and I for 5 minutes until I fished my wallet out. I truly think we would still be sitting out on that boat if I refused to give him something. When we got to the beach the guide in Spanish was giving directions and relying on another guest to translate to us what the food and drink options were. And it was the bare minimum. Open bar really means: Coke and rum, sprite, or water. Anything else you had to pay for. The food was pretty bad. They did not tell anyone what we were eating and when I found a shell of an unknown crustacean in my spaghetti I figured it was time to stop eating. My wife and I had to swap chairs around to have to functioning chairs next to each other which was already annoying. After we were pestered by vendors selling massages and souvenirs I fell asleep and she read for 2 hours. Everyone started loading up to go back to their boats or onto the catamaran to go back to the main island. We boarded the small speed boat to take us out to a catamaran that would sail us back. The catamaran started the drive with ear piercing music which no one was prepared for and the seating was pretty uncomfortable. They offered drinks and the crew danced which was fun. When we got back to the harbor they sent us back to the conscience store for another 45 minutes and then directed us a big group to the buses. The ride home did not start until a random man came on and asked if we wanted to buy mamajuana with our photos on them and then when we refused he left and the drive started. We then stopped at random locations for people going to specific resorts to change buses and let some of the crew off at random destinations. We literally pulled off on the side of the highway and let the camera guy walk down the side of the highway. All in all, if we didn’t have 1 guide who translated a few things and another tourist who also translated for us we would have been screwed. But the island was beautiful and that’s what my wife kept telling herself. We would not do this tour with this company EVER again.

Find another island tour — horribly organized

Spent more time waiting at pickup location than at the beach. The food offered was not the food listed in the description

Saona Platinum Beach Day: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Saona Platinum Beach Day cost?

+

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Saona Platinum Beach Day take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Saona Platinum Beach Day worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 56 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Saona Platinum Beach Day?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Saona Platinum Beach Day suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Saona Platinum Beach Day?

+

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Saona Platinum Beach Day start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

+

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
