Do Not use Punta Cana Paradise tour for excursions

I booked this tour on Tuesday, July 15. The day for the tour was scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025. After completing the booking, Punta Cana Paradise Tours instructions stated that hotel pick-up will commence at 7am on July 19. The instructions further stated that on the day of the scheduled tour, they’ll contact me and give me a pick-up time. They never did. I try calling Punta Cana Paradise tour several times on the phone number provided to no avail. At about 7:30 am, Punta Cana Paradise tour finally sent me a message and stated that my pick-up time is going to be 7:50am. Nobody showed up. At 8:20am, I sent Punta Cana Paradise tour another message requesting a new pick-up time and they never responded. I wasted two hours of my time, from 7:00am to 9:00 am, waiting to be picked-up by Punta Cana Paradise tour. If you looking for an excursion, all I can say Good Luck if you going to use Punta Cana Paradise tour.

    Beautiful but could use improvement

This is a must do trip when in DR! This tour company was decent except for a few key things. Just for context we have done many excursions over the years. We did catamaran on the way there and speed boat on way back. On the way there they came around with coke and rum. After that you go to the back to get water or coke or rum...that's it. Stopped at the natural pool, swam came back on boat. Again drinks were not easily accessible and were limited and no food but you can buy an empanada for $1 usd.(by this time you get hungry as it's about 4 hours or more since you were picked up) There were smokers at the front of the catamaran that in the beginning were told had to go to back to smoke, however this was not enforced at all during the trip which was disappointing for us non smokers. Also kids sitting dangerously on the edge of the catamaran and again not paying attention to safety (parents too). We have been on catamarans before, all of them would tell children to not go on edge and watch smokers. The lunch was decent. All in all, a nice day. Speed boat on way back was quick. Gone for about 11 hours but I didn't mind. It would be great for more drink options and provide a few small snacks after natural pool.

Saona Island trip was a fiasco...

My clients said they were shuttled from the hotel via a gas fill up and to put air in the tire...and were taken to the port via tourist traps, the transfer from hotel to port took 3 hours which is only 1 hour away....they were dumped at the port to find their boat on their own as the driver did not speak English, there were 40 people on the boat which drove too fast to the island...the lunch was not good and we sat on old worn out beach chairs...this tour was supposed to be 15 people and it was 40 people...the trip took 12 hours and we were exhausted when we were dumped back at the port and were shuttled onto any bus they could find to get back to the resort...all in all very chaotic and would not recommend this trip...

Response from the operator: Thank you for your observation, we will work to see what happened and to improve.

Saona Island Full Day From Punta Cana: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Saona Island Full Day From Punta Cana cost?

    +

Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Saona Island Full Day From Punta Cana take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Saona Island Full Day From Punta Cana worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Saona Island Full Day From Punta Cana?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Saona Island Full Day From Punta Cana suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Saona Island Full Day From Punta Cana?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Saona Island Full Day From Punta Cana start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
