GREAT

I highly recommend visiting the Dominican Republic. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach vacation or an adventure
The trip was great, the executions were amazing, I enjoyed my time here! From the stunning beaches to the vibrant culture, everything about this trip was incredible. First, the natural beauty of the island is breathtaking. I spent most of my time at Punta Cana, where the white sandy beaches and crystal-clear water made it the perfect spot to relax. The resorts are well-maintained and offer a variety of activities, from water sports to spa treatments.

BEWARE SCAM NO HOTEL PICK UP NO SNORKELS
Terrible experience. Stay FAR away from This tour. They promise to pick You up at the lobby but they DO NOT have permission to enter at least bávaro hotel AT ALL. We left for the tour TWO HOURS after the booking time. There’s NO SNORKEL equipment. NONE and that was the only reason why I booked this tour. It was an absolute mess. I’m bilingual and I spoke to them very clearly in both English and Spanish. I had to take a $5 taxi from the lobby to the gate to go to the tour bus. Food is mediocre. Open “bar” is ONLY RUM AND COKE and water. They tried to scam my fiance for $120 For PICTURES!!!! I understand isla saona boat area is chaotic and messy but this was such a hassle to deal with them. TOUR DOES NOT START AT 7 AM!!!! NO SNORKEL NO PICK UP AT HOTEL LOBBY!!!!!!!!! Terrible Experience !!! This company even lies to its workers as one of them explained to us. They keep The money from The booking and Up charge everything else !!!! Do NOT BOOK RHIS TOUR !!! I wish I didn’t. This was a very sad experience for such a beautiful place. DO NOT waste your hard earned money here
Response from the operator: We're really sorry to hear that you had a bad experience, and we appreciate your feedback. After looking into your excursion, we’d like to clarify a few details about your review, as some points may be a bit misleading. Hotel Transportation: The hotel doesn't allow any transportation into the lobby unless the reservation was made through them. While we have arrangements with all hotels, in this case, the security requested money from our driver to allow entry, which he refused. Unfortunately, this is sometimes because they prefer guests to book tours directly with the hotel at a higher price. Tour Operations: We are an operator, not a supplier. This means we arrange the tours, but the company at Isla Saona is a separate entity. The employees you spoke with do not represent our company and cannot speak on our behalf. Photographers at Saona Island: The photographers on Saona Island are independent and do not work for us. Any photos taken should be discussed with them directly, and we recommend doing so before accepting their services, as we have no control over this. We sincerely regret that your experience wasn’t as expected, but we want to ensure that reviews are accurate and reflect the situation fairly. A scam, as you mentioned, typically involves a situation where a customer falsely claims that a service wasn't provided in order to obtain a refund. Your review indicates that you did participate in the tour, so it’s important to clarify that this was not the case here. Thank you for understanding, and we hope to improve based on your feedback.

Not paradise
Understood Saona Island was an unspoilt paradise highly recommended by locals. It was however spoilt for us by hundreds and hundreds of people. Noise, lines ups for food, people right on top of us. Lots of folk of course offering their wares, NOT relaxing. Some confusion at pick up spot in Bayahibe as we met the tour there. If possible I’m sure it’d be best to get picked up at the hotel. The boats leave from Bayahibe and it’s simply a circus. The open bar on shore and on the return trip back of course meant one in particular fella passed out not before being a huge nuisance. The girls on board did their best to to distract him by trying to get him to dance to the loud, thumping music.
Response from the operator: Dear Shona, We are so sorry you did not have a good experience and i would like to address some of your issues to ensure we provide exceptional service to our clients. 1. There are two separate parts to Saona Island one that is public which is what was reserved and we also have an option for private which is more expensive however our guide would take you to a private part of the island where you can relax uniterupted. 2. The reason why we recommend having our driver pick you up is to avoid the issues you had at Bayahibe, when you informed us that you would be driving we did our best to make arrangements for the guide to meet you as we manage a large group and it was difficult to have him leave the group to come find you but he told us he eventually did find you. 3. Again the private option allows for you to take the speedboat back which would avoid the catamaran party back. A lot of our clients love to party on the way back and we are sorry you had to experience that we try our best to urge our clients to drink responsibly but some of them go a little overboard saying they are on vacation. I would like to apologize for you experience and would love to offer you a private option if you return in the future. We appreciate your review as we always strive for excellence. Cheers

BEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE
AMAZINGGG EXPERIENCE. I am sooo happy I chose this package. Me and my friend met some awesome people and it was well worth the price. I would do it every-time I come to DR, honestly. The food we had in the island was tasty and fulfilling. As well as the natural pool to the private island, spending time in the water was a blast. The music on the boat had a great mix as well. Lovely people, and we felt very safe. I also got something nice from the gift shop prior to any water activities. They have everything you need plus shots of mamajuana in the meantime. 1,000 out of 10!!

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Saona Island Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does Saona Island Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Saona Island Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is Saona Island Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Saona Island Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Saona Island Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Saona Island Day Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Saona Island Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
