Roberto Burle Marx Municipal Park, better known as "City Park", located in São José dos Campos - SP, occupies an area of ​​about one million square meters that was part of the former Parahyba Weaving Farm. In this vast perimeter are sheltered a great diversity of vegetal species and a beautiful landscape composed by gardens, imperial palms, lakes, artificial islands, woods and malls. The gardens, by Roberto Burle Marx, and the Residence Olivo Gomes, designed by Rino Levi, make up an important work of modern architecture. One of the main attractions of the park is the contact with nature. It provides the user with pleasant walks on paths surrounded by dense vegetation made up of native and exotic species and inhabited by a rich wildlife. The park is also a privileged place for the practice of physical exercises, recreation and cultural activities and environmental education. The complex was transformed into a municipal park in 1996. Its heritage is listed by Comphac - Municipal Council for Preservation of Historic, Artistic, Landscaping and Cultural Heritage. The Olivo Gomes Residence and the gardens of Burle Marx are listed by the Condephaat.

  4. Igreja Matriz De Sao Jose

    Mother Church was the first chapel of São José dos Campos, built at the time that Indians still existed in the city, around 1643. In 1831, there was a heavy rain and this chapel collapsed, leaving only the altar. It was rebuilt in paving stone (walls made of crumpled and crushed clay). As the mud was also not a very resistant material was built in 1934 a new church, made of masonry, which is the current Mother Church.
