Great fun. Time flies by.
Our whole group (my husband and I are 60+ and my daughter and son are 30 and 26) really enjoyed this activity. It was probably the highlight of our holiday. It’s a fun way to explore part of the Santorini coastline and hidden spots. We had a delicious picnic (thanks to Lia) on a secluded beach and did a bit of snorkelling. Adonis and Elliot were very entertaining and really made the trip.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that kayaking was one of the highlights of your holiday and that the whole family enjoyed the adventure! It was a pleasure having you all with us, and we’re so happy you enjoyed discovering Santorini’s coastline, hidden spots, snorkeling, and of course Lia’s delicious picnic! We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Lia, Adonis, and Elliot — they’ll be thrilled to hear that they helped make your experience so memorable. Thank you for choosing Santorini Sea Kayak and for sharing these special memories with us. We hope to see you all back on the water someday! Best wishes from the Santorini Sea Kayak Crew!

Oh my you must do this
So if you like to be adventurous and kayak you have to do this! We’re use to kayaking on a lake and be in it own kayak. This was not that but it was amazing! We’re 59 and I was concerned about it being hard. Our guides were amazing and kept us close to the shore line and it was fabulous! Adonis and Elliot were hysterical while keeping us safe. We stopped at a private cove to swim, and had a delicious lunch made by Leah! There was an informative lesson before leaving for our journey! It was exhilarating and gorgeous! Definitely a must!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful and detailed review! We’re thrilled that you stepped outside your usual lake-kayaking experience and joined us for an adventure on the Aegean Sea! We’re especially happy to hear that you felt comfortable and safe throughout the tour. Adonis and Elliot will be delighted to know they kept you laughing while also looking after you every step of the way! We’re so glad you enjoyed the swim in our beautiful hidden cove, the informative introduction, and of course Lia’s homemade picnic! It was an absolute pleasure having you with us, and we love hearing that the experience felt both exhilarating and beautiful. Thank you for recommending Santorini Sea Kayak as a “must” — we hope to paddle with you again someday! Best wishes from the Santorini Sea Kayak Crew!

Professional + so fun
We aren't expert kayakers but this excursion ended up being the highlight of our first time in Santorini. The water is beautiful, clear, rocky but we felt safe the whole time. Adonis, our guide, was confident, calm, but also had jokes to keep the adventure stress free. Elliot, spent extra timing making sure we knew exactly how to work this kayak and never made us feel bad for being slower compared to the group. Lia, gracious got us a driver to take us to Oia to see the beautiful city and sunset. Even though I initially said no to her setting up a fair (details below), she didn't make me feel like I was inconviening her to set one up last minute. The price was also reasonable (Like uber/lyft rates in US) The entire time, the team clearly wants you to enjoy your time in Santorini, they love the city and the water too. They also take adorable photos of you with phone and GoPro and will send them afterwards. They have some things waterproof cases, extra water for purchase which was very convenient and reasonablely priced. Book the kayaks!! It's fun! Our lesson learned: We booked with viator, Lia personally messaged us to confirm our arrival time and if we needed additional transport. We said no the private car they offered (pretty much an uber/lyft via local driver) assuming we could take the public bus and save some cash. She was kind and respected our decision, but said to let her know if we needed anything. The public bus team was confusing to navigate, only took small bills/euros, were rude, and didn't speak much English. The day we went, it was on time though, but apparently typically isn't.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Jessica for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review! We’re absolutely thrilled that your kayaking adventure became the highlight of your first visit to Santorini! It means a lot to hear that you felt safe, comfortable, and well looked after throughout the experience. We’ll definitely share your kind words with Adonis, Elliot, and Lia. Their goal is always to make everyone feel confident, relaxed, and welcome, no matter their kayaking experience (and yes… a few jokes along the way are part of the package! 😄). We’re also so happy Lia could help you with the last-minute ride to Oia and make your evening a little easier. And of course, we’re glad you enjoyed the photos too — a little souvenir of an unforgettable day! Thank you again for trusting us with your Santorini adventure and for the enthusiastic recommendation! Best wishes from the Santorini Sea Kayak Family!

The most life-affirming,...
The most life-affirming, inspirational and just plain fun experience I have had in Santorini (Thira). Made possible by two outstanding individuals (Adonis and Lia) who reflect a disciplined talented team at SSK. A thorough briefing, good quality equipment, un-compromising attention to safety provided an under-pinning to the day. Adonis is incredibly skilful- both technically and in communication. His unrelenting enthusiasm, comedic timing and deep knowledge made each minute a joy. It was a windy day but he made us laugh through the (few) rough patches. Mostly it was helping us absorb the fascinating details of geology and history of the island according to our interests. Constantly monitoring our progress and the weather, he provided opportunities to match. In our case, we were fortunate to visit sea caves that had us whooping like kids. There was time for a snorkel/swim out to another amazing rock formation before lunch. Lia had provided vegan and chicken and salad rolls with fruit and sweet treats. All delicious. Adonis and Lia were both happy to chat at any depth- lots to reflect on later- again thanks to their extraordinary generosity of spirit. Oh and on top of constantly supporting novice paddlers without once losing his warm demeanour, Adonis filmed the whole adventure on his GoPro. I cannot say for sure we were not in the presence of gods, but I do know we received 1000% value for money.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Julis for such an incredibly thoughtful and generous review! It truly means a lot to Lia and me. It was an absolute pleasure having you with us, and I’m so happy that despite the wind, we managed to turn the day into an adventure full of laughter, discovery, and a few “whooping like kids” moments! Sharing the stories, geology, history, and little hidden corners of Santorini with curious and enthusiastic guests like you is exactly why we love what we do. And of course, Lia will be very happy to hear that her lunch passed the taste test! Thank you for trusting us, embracing the adventure, and bringing such wonderful energy to the day. We hope the memories and photos will keep the Aegean spirit alive long after you’ve left Santorini. From both of us, a huge thank you — your kind words are truly appreciated. Hope to see you back on the water someday! Best wishes, Adonis & Lia

Why this scores 90
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Santorini Sea Kayak – Volcanic Cliffs, Hidden Sea Caves & Picnic: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.
How much does Santorini Sea Kayak – Volcanic Cliffs, Hidden Sea Caves & Picnic cost?
+
Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Santorini Sea Kayak – Volcanic Cliffs, Hidden Sea Caves & Picnic take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.
Is Santorini Sea Kayak – Volcanic Cliffs, Hidden Sea Caves & Picnic worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1,034 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Santorini Sea Kayak – Volcanic Cliffs, Hidden Sea Caves & Picnic?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Santorini Sea Kayak – Volcanic Cliffs, Hidden Sea Caves & Picnic suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Santorini Sea Kayak – Volcanic Cliffs, Hidden Sea Caves & Picnic?
+
Around 362 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Santorini Sea Kayak – Volcanic Cliffs, Hidden Sea Caves & Picnic start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santorini?
+
On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santorini?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santorini?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
