Not worth it
This trip is very expensive and just not worth it. The ferry tickets are only €13.50/pp each way so you are paying €400 for a bus and a guide??The day was 13+ hours and your total free time on Santorini is barely 3 hours. It’s a nice experience to be offered but just not worth it for a day unless your sole goal is to get the blue dome picture. Communication is very lacking on the way there. Very confusing. No clear direction on how to get your ticket to board the ferry (from the ticket booth, not the person waiting outside the bus). You find your bus number after arriving on the island. Would have been helpful to know. The tour guide waiting was very nice and knowledgeable. But, he did not stop talking, like ever. Too much for me. Our pickup was 6:20am and we were late for our 8:00pm dinner reservation. It was just too much travel for too little time to explore.
Response from the operator: Good morning! We would like to thank you for choosing our company for your tour, as well as for taking the time to give us your feedback. Allow us to mention that the ferry ticket to Santorini is nowhere near to 13,50 euros/pp. This amount is only regarding the port taxes. Our rate, 190 euros/pp, is including the ferry ticket & the port taxes, the pick-up & drop-off transfer from/to your hotel, the guide and the bus tour in Santorini island. We really do believe that this tour offers a unique opportunity to visit one of the most famous and beautiful islands of Greece, in just a few hours! We are really sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as expected. We remain at your disposal for any assistance. Best regards, DiscoverD1 Team

An amazing experience!
During our stay in Crete we decided to visit Santorini. Everything was so smooth and well organized! A plus is the pick up from our hotel that made our day a pleasant experience. The staff and guides are very friendly and really helpful. We had the opportunity to explore Fira and Oia and stroll in its alleys. The guides were really helpful and with good recommendations! We really enjoyed this day trip and it's highly recommended.
Response from the operator: Good morning! We would like to thank you for taking the time to write your comments about our tour. We're glad you enjoyed it! We remain at your disposal. Best regards, DiscoverD1 Team

Beautiful Place Poor Organisation
First, due to under booking the trip was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. Then the pick up was not from the hotel but from a nearby supermarket, after contacting the operator this then changed to a taxi picking us from the hotel which was great improvement. The journey to the port took about an hour from Agios Nikolaos. The journey over on the Jetboat was very comfortable with cafe facilities onboard. The buses for the tour in Santorini are well organised and you visit Oia and Fira. The photo opportunities are good and the place itself are excellent for restaurants and sightseeing, my advice would be to find a restaurant you fancy yourself rather than the one the guides are recommending. The free time is acceptable and the tour is on the coach between stops. We were not informed of the arrangements when returning and ended up paying for a taxi ourselves back to Agios Nikolaos, €80 as we couldn’t find any bus, then we were called saying the bus was available. The travel arrangements spoilt the excursion for us. The trip itself is well over priced at €190+. I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend the tour due to the organisation and the value for money aspect. We were heavily discounted due to the issues we encountered but it just wasn’t worth the stress and inconvenience encountered during a holiday.
Response from the operator: Dear Mr. Bennett, Good morning. We would like to thank you for taking your time to write your comments about our tour, as we are always interested in our clients feedback. Please allow us to mention the below: 1. As we informed you the day before the tour (by calling you and messaging you), due to the fact we still were early in the season (your booking was for the 27th of April) there was a low participation (which is also written in our policy rules, we reserve the right to cancel a booking in case of low participation) and we offered you the alternative day, which was on the exact next day (28th of April). We asked if you agree to amend your booking to 28th of April (or of course if you wish to be refunded) and you agreed. 2. Regarding the pick-up point, as we explained, in some cases (when the access to a hotel is not easy for the buses), we offer the pick-up from a point close to the hotel which is very easily reached (to make sure the bus will not have any issues and to not get delayed, in order to arrive on time for the boat’s departure). We even contacted your hotel reception in order to make sure they will explain to you where is the exact pick-up point. However, we gladly arranged for you a taxi (with no extra charge) in order to pick you up directly from your hotel in the morning. 3. As you informed us that you were disappointed by these changes (although we had explained the reasons they were happening and we arranged a taxi to pick you up from your hotel), we decided to refund you with 50% of the total amount of your booking, as we wanted to express how important it is for us to keep you satisfied. 4. Regarding the return from Santorini island, back to the port of Heraklion, all of our clients are informed on the spot about the bus number they should board on. We were informed by the staff at the port, which was waiting for you, that you were not on the bus and we immediately contacted you. You told us that you didn’t know which bus you should get on (although the staff was on the spot in order to inform the passengers) and that you decided to take a taxi back to your hotel. As we told you, during this conversation, we wished you would have contacted us on our emergency number (which we gave to you and to all of our clients in case any assistance is needed and which is available 24/7), in order for us to help you. We would have solved this issue immediately at the port. We are really sorry that we didn’t meet your expectations, although we really tried to assist you and to not disappoint you. We remain at your disposal. Best regards, DiscoverD1 Team

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Santorini Island Full-Day Sightseeing Tour from Agios Nikolaos: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Heraklion.
How much does Santorini Island Full-Day Sightseeing Tour from Agios Nikolaos cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Heraklion usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Santorini Island Full-Day Sightseeing Tour from Agios Nikolaos take?
+
Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Heraklion is not rushed.
Is Santorini Island Full-Day Sightseeing Tour from Agios Nikolaos worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Heraklion, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Santorini Island Full-Day Sightseeing Tour from Agios Nikolaos?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Santorini Island Full-Day Sightseeing Tour from Agios Nikolaos suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Santorini Island Full-Day Sightseeing Tour from Agios Nikolaos?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Heraklion can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Heraklion and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Santorini Island Full-Day Sightseeing Tour from Agios Nikolaos start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Heraklion within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Heraklion?
+
On Outty we rank every Heraklion experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Knossos - Zeus Cave - Old Traditional Villages-Olive Oil Factory, Knossos & Lasithi Plateau: Zeus Cave, Villages, Olive Oil Tour, 5Hour Safari Tour in Crete(Heraklion)with Quad,Jeep,Buggy & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Heraklion?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Heraklion?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
