Exceeded our Expectations!
As first time visitors to Santorini, this was the perfect way to spend the day and get to know the island from an insiders perspective. Mario, our guide and local resident, was knowledgeable, kind, over the top helpful, and made us feel like honored guests enjoying this beautiful island. We felt like he truly enjoyed showing us around, in addition to being an excellent picture take 😊 His narration and explanations throughout the trip were interesting and insightful. Our time spent at the private wine tasting was also a great enhancement to the tour, having a chance to try great wine and enjoy learning about the history of wine making in Santorini. The overall time of the tour was perfect, too – we still had time to wander a little on our own afterwards and enjoy a great Greek lunch. Definitely recommend this, especially if you can request Mario!

Fun day with a great guide
We had a wonderful experience exploring Santorini with Dimitri. What made the day particularly special was that he is a local, and his knowledge and personal connection to the island allowed us to experience Santorini through his eyes rather than simply seeing it as tourists. Dimitri has an incredible knowledge of the local areas, history and culture, and he brought everything to life with his stories and enthusiasm. It was fascinating to hear about the places we visited from someone who genuinely knows and loves the island. He was friendly, engaging and clearly passionate about sharing his home with visitors. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend Dimitri to anyone wanting to discover the real Santorini. The wine tasting was interesting too and the selection of four we tasted were all of a good quality. There was also a small tasting plate to pair with the food. I would thoroughly recommend this trip for anyone new to the island or wanting to explore new parts.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! We are truly proud to hear such kind words about our local guide Dimitris and your experience with Santorini Road Trips.Comments like yours give us the motivation to keep getting better every day for all those who visit Santorini and Greece. Wonderful and friendly introduction to Santorini
We had our tour with Mario a few hours after arriving in Santorini, and he helped us to quickly understand the magic and allure of this Mediterranean paradise, from our southern starting point of Perissa to the famous northern area of Oia. Mario was friendly and helpful throughout the tour. I’d highly recommend this tour for a great overview of Santorini, especially early into an extended stay. Turns out we liked the laid back vibe of Perissa more than the pace of Oia, but I can’t knock the beauty of any part of the island.
Response from the operator: A huge thank you from all of us at Santorini Road Trips for your fantastic review!Marios is passionate about sharing the hidden gems and unique stories of Santorini, and it means a lot to know you had such a great time together. Your feedback inspires us to keep creating memorable experiences every day. Warm regards, The Santorini Road Trips team.

Dimitri was an excellent guide for our tour of Santorini. He was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the area and each city or village. He allowed us to go at our own pace yet adhering to the itinerary. He was very personable and knew several of the local people. I would highly recommend this tour, especially for first time visitors to Santorini.

Why this scores 86
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Santorini First Visit Private Tour with Wine Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.
How much does Santorini First Visit Private Tour with Wine Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Santorini First Visit Private Tour with Wine Tasting take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.
Is Santorini First Visit Private Tour with Wine Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 147 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Santorini First Visit Private Tour with Wine Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Santorini First Visit Private Tour with Wine Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Santorini First Visit Private Tour with Wine Tasting?
+
Around 51 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Santorini First Visit Private Tour with Wine Tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santorini?
+
On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santorini?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santorini?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
