What you get
About this experience
Authenticity and Intimacy combined with tastes & flavors. This is not a commercial cooking class — it is a genuine farm-to-table experience hosted in a traditional Santorini cave farm, surrounded by gardens and volcanic soil. Guests cook with vegetables grown on-site, taste wines from award-winning local wineries, and learn recipes rooted in generations of Santorinian tradition. Every ingredient has a story, and every dish connects directly to the island’s land and history. Beyond the food and wine, what makes this experience unique is the personal connection. Sitting under the family tree, sharing heartfelt conversations about local life, traditions, and culture, guests become part of the story — not just observers. The experience concludes with a walk through Megalochori’s hidden “kadounia” — narrow stone pathways forming a charming maze — offering a peaceful glimpse of authentic village life away from the crowds.

This was a phenomenal...
This was a phenomenal experience. The cooking was so fun, the wine was so good, we got to experience authentic life on Santorini. The best part, though, was Anna who led us through all of it. She is the best! Incredibly authentic, kind, well spoken, etc… if you’re on the fence about this, think no longer, it’s a must do!

A wonderful tour with amazing food!
This tour was such a charming experience! We learned so much about farming on Santorini, tried delicious foods, and got the opportunity to cook some local recipes while sipping on local wines! We were also taken to a local town to learn about its history and a bakery to try some desserts, which were wonderful! I would definitely do this tour again - it was well worth the money and it goes to a local farm.

Anna Maria ~ True Experience
A fantastic hands-on cooking experience on a traditional family farm in Megalochori, Santorini. We learned about the island’s unique volcanic agriculture and the centuries-old kouloura vine-training method used to protect Santorini’s grapevines from the strong winds while producing exceptional Assyrtiko grapes. We prepared some of Santorini’s signature dishes, including tomatokeftedes (traditional tomato fritters), Santorini fava (made from local yellow split peas), fried white eggplant, and locally grown sun-dried tomatoes. Everything was made with fresh ingredients from the farm, making it a truly authentic taste of Santorini. A wonderful cultural experience that combined local history, traditional farming, and delicious food. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the real Santorini beyond the famous views.

Absolutely AMAZING experience!!!
Words can’t express how amazing this experience was. From the second you arrive Anna makes you feel like family. She is so warm and inviting and eager to teach you about the farm. I learned so much more than just cooking. It was fascinating to hear how they work so hard to keep this tomato farm alive and thriving. It’s a look into the beautiful traditions Santorini has and what makes their tomatoes so delicious! It’s important to hold onto these traditions and the family that help run this farm, truly have so much pride and hard work to keep that magic going! The recipes we made were delicious! Anna was very attentive to each person and making sure we all understood and contributed a part to the meal. We enjoyed our meal under a tree with wine and a view of the farm. Anna takes you on a tour through the town next to the farm as well. You truly get that wholesome experience of meeting the locals and seeing the beauty and history of Santorini. We even got to try a taste of the Ouzo from a restaurant in town. This was one of our favorite experiences we did while visiting. I HIGHLY suggest others to book this tour with Anna. I can’t wait to replicate these recipes at home and teach others. Σας ευχαριστώ Anna for an amazing experience and education on tomato farms in Santorini! <3 Ben & Brittany

Why this scores 85
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Santorini Family Farm Food & Wine Tour with Cooking Class: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.
How much does Santorini Family Farm Food & Wine Tour with Cooking Class cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Santorini Family Farm Food & Wine Tour with Cooking Class take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.
Is Santorini Family Farm Food & Wine Tour with Cooking Class worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 134 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Santorini Family Farm Food & Wine Tour with Cooking Class?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Santorini Family Farm Food & Wine Tour with Cooking Class suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Santorini Family Farm Food & Wine Tour with Cooking Class?
+
Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Santorini Family Farm Food & Wine Tour with Cooking Class start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santorini?
+
On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santorini?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santorini?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
