    Sunset sailing

We had a great time sailing at sunset. I would especially recommend this if you actually like to do some sailing. The captain/crew were very knowledgeable and friendly. They prepared a great dinner for us as well. Great experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the fantastic review! We are delighted to hear that you had such a great time on our sunset cruise. As passionate sailors ourselves, we're especially thrilled that you enjoyed the authentic sailing experience! Thank you for choosing Caldera Yachting, and we hope to welcome you back on board for another sail in the future!

Best family vacation we’ve ever taken!

Our two families just returned from a week sailing the Cyclades on the Golden Star (Caldera Yachting) and it was hands down the best trip we’ve ever taken. We traveled with our 10 and 12-year-olds, and our crew, Captain Ilias and Georgia, were just absolutely fantastic with them and made the whole experience unforgettable. Having Georgia on board was a total game-changer. She made two huge, delicious meals a day using all fresh, local ingredients. We had two pescatarians in our group and she accommodated them perfectly with things like shrimp pasta, baked mussels, and amazing whole roasted fish. It was so nice not having to stress about where to eat—we could just enjoy the islands and come back to a home-cooked family-style meal on the deck. Captain Ilias really knows his stuff. He taught us so much about the area, the geology, and sailing, but what we appreciated most was how he adjusted the trip based on the weather. When the water got rough one day, he used his network of other captains to find a safe spot at a tiny fishing port in Naxos. We ended up at this amazing little farm-to-table taverna where the kids ate local lamb and we could literally see the sheep grazing right by the patio. Ilias also gave us great advice on land. He told us to take the bus up to the Chora in Ios, which had exactly the white-washed, bougainvillea-filled, cat-friendly Greek alleys we were hoping for. Antiparos town was another favorite stop just for wandering around the beautiful shops and streets. The kids' absolute favorite part was when Ilias anchored near Paros, took us out on the tender, and brought us to an uninhabited island. We had a pristine beach completely to ourselves for the afternoon just to swim and jump off the boat. If you are thinking about doing a family charter in Greece, definitely request the Golden Star with Ilias and Georgia. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back!

Response from the operator: Thank you for such a thoughtful and generous review! Reading about your family's experience on board the Golden Star was truly a pleasure. We're so pleased that Captain Ilias and Georgia helped create a journey filled with wonderful moments, from sharing local flavours and hidden gems to finding those special places that make sailing the Cyclades so unique. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words to them—they'll be delighted to know they made such a lasting impression. Thank you for choosing to sail with us!

Pinnacle experience of our Santorini trip

We enjoyed a private 5 hour sunset dinner cruise for our family of four. Our Caldera catamaran “FREEDOM” with Captain Nikos and 1st Mate Dimitri were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. The boat was impeccably clean and spacious for the four of us. We made stops to swim by red beach, white beach, and moored along a private beach cove for a deliciously prepared dinner which included grilled Sea Bream, chicken, rice, Greek salad, tzatziki , hummus, baba ghanoush, and local wine…all delicious! This was the pinnacle of our 10 day vacation across Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini. When we return we’ll be sure to do it again with them (only).

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a wonderful memory from your time in Santorini! We’re delighted to hear that your private cruise aboard Freedom was such a special part of your journey. Captain Nikos and Dimitris will be happy to know their hospitality helped make your experience unforgettable. We truly appreciate your kind words!

    Private yacht afternoon adventure!

Unique experience onboard Ocean King with Constantinos and Corina who were the perfect hosts! Check in was a bit chaotic but once onboard the peace descended and we really felt the benefit of a private yacht. The tour, the scenery, the history were all perfect. We stopped a couple of places to swim and snorkel then had incredible food moored up in the Caldera. Sailing back they put up the sails including a huge spinnaker which finished off this very special experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a detailed review. We’re glad to hear that once on board Ocean King, you were able to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of a private yacht experience. It’s wonderful to know that Constantinos and Corina helped make your day special, and that you enjoyed the scenery, swimming stops, food, and the sailing experience through the Caldera. We appreciate your feedback and are grateful you chose to spend this memorable day with us.

Santorini Caldera Private Sailing Boat Cruise: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.

How much does Santorini Caldera Private Sailing Boat Cruise cost?

    +

Prices start at $800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Santorini Caldera Private Sailing Boat Cruise take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.

Is Santorini Caldera Private Sailing Boat Cruise worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 58 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Santorini Caldera Private Sailing Boat Cruise?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Santorini Caldera Private Sailing Boat Cruise suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Santorini Caldera Private Sailing Boat Cruise?

    +

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Santorini Caldera Private Sailing Boat Cruise start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santorini?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santorini?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santorini?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
