    History!

The transportation was very limited. There was 2 people to a seat, but the seat did not seem to accommodate 2 people. It seems the van was too small for everyone to sit comfortably. Our driver spoke only Spanish, so there was difficulty with translation. Fortunately, our tour guide spoke Spanish and English. He was very informative about the places we visited, to include background information. The places we visited were very interesting and full of history. The included lunch was very good. There was quite a bit of walking, but rest breaks were noted.

    Our driver came a bit...

We traveled to Punta Cana June 2024. Our driver came a bit late for us but in the end we had a great time. We shared our transportation with strangers that became friends

    DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Please, please, please don't waste your money booking with this company! We were not taken to the Three Eyes National Park to see the cenotes and were not told until we asked at lunch and were just told no, we don't go there today! That was one of the main things we wanted to see and were gutted we didn't get the opportunity. We also were not taken to the see palace or taken to walk down 'The Ladies' Street, all of which are advertised on the itinerary. We basically did a 6 hour round trip from the Bavaro area to spend over 1 hour at lunch and 1.5 hours in the city on a walking tour to see the 1st church of America the lighthouse museum and numerous souvenir shops that the tour guide obviously had deals with. We had two young children with us who are very used to travel, adventure holidays and sightseeing who were just expected to wait around outside souvenir shops (not what we went to do!) and got extremely bored, hot and fed up. An absolute waste of a day we could have spent doing something else, a waste of money and a very sad waste of an opportunity to see a beautiful city and its surroundings!

    Nice tour!

The one day trip to Danto Domingo from Punta Cana was very nice! The communication was great! We were informed a day before about the pick up location and the pick up time! The driver was on time-everything went smooth! The minibus was very comfortable, with AC! The tour to Los tres Ojos was a great experience; we had plenty time to see the park! The city tour was a little bit rushed… I wish we had time to see more! The lunch was good! The guide gave us a few general information…. If we would’ve visit more, he probably would’ve explain more; the group was half Spanish half English and the guide did a great job explaining everything in both languages! Yes, we did stop at specific souvenir stores but nobody made any pressure on us to buy! I walked around in the center a little bit more while others preferred to shop and we all regrouped at the meeting point! I do recommend the tour! It was a long distance from punta cana to Santo Domingo indeed but we can’t complain about this; we knew it’s a long ride!!! I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish the tour will include a little more time to another attraction in the city- a walk on malecon or other activity…. We only visited the cathedral, which is very beautiful, but all the other places were only a pass by!!!

Santo Domingo City - Full Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Santo Domingo City - Full Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Santo Domingo City - Full Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Santo Domingo City - Full Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 69 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Santo Domingo City - Full Day Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Santo Domingo City - Full Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Santo Domingo City - Full Day Tour?

    +

Around 24 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Santo Domingo City - Full Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Off Road Buggy Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
