Our expectations were...
Our expectations were actually low, expecting just a ride through Santa Monica and Venice on a bus with some narration. As it turned out, we had fun! Jose was an entertaining guide. We got to walk around the SM pier and Venice Beach while Jose filled us in on some area history and eccentricities. Jose made us feel like his special guests.
Response from the operator: Hi Gwen, Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful review. I’m so glad to hear that the Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour exceeded your expectations and turned into such a fun experience. Jose will be thrilled to know that his energy, storytelling, and local knowledge helped make the day so memorable. We love hearing that he made you feel like special guests, because that is exactly the experience we always hope to create. Thank you again for joining us and for taking the time to share your kind words. All The Best, Kenneth

Beach tour
This tour was amazing! The guide was great! So much to see and so relaxed. I had a very small window of time and wanted to see as much as possible. The company was so accommodating and kindly answered all of my questions before I booked. Trust me... I had a lot of questions! I will definitely be doing another tour next time I’m in California!
Response from the operator: Dear Rennay, We absolutely look forward to seeing you again in the future, I'm extremely glad you had a great time. Thank you! All the best, Kenneth

The trip was ok and we enjoyed the ride. The best part was that 2 of us were the only ones on the ride, so it felt like a private tour. The person who was with us was very knowledgeable and courteous and funny.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour from Los Angeles: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Angeles.
How much does Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour from Los Angeles cost?
+
Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Angeles usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour from Los Angeles take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Angeles is not rushed.
Is Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour from Los Angeles worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Los Angeles, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour from Los Angeles?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour from Los Angeles suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour from Los Angeles?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Angeles can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Angeles and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Santa Monica and Venice Beach Tour from Los Angeles start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Angeles within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Los Angeles?
+
Los Angeles rewards travellers who cluster their bookings by geography rather than by theme. Studio tours and Hollywood walks sit inland, the Malibu and Santa Monica coast runs west, and Griffith Observatory and the canyon hikes work best at dawn or dusk. We weight transport clarity in the ranking here: whether pickup is included changes an LA day more than the tour itself. On Outty we rank every Los Angeles experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hollywood Sign 2.5-Hour Tour with Comedians and Their Dogs, Los Angeles Hollywood Sign Hike: Front, Behind, and Expert Guide, Los Angeles Original 90-Minute Walking Tour to The Hollywood Sign. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Los Angeles?
+
March to May and September to November, for clear air and open canyon roads. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Los Angeles?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
