About this experience

The traditional preparation of Turkish coffee involves a meticulous process that starts with the selection and grinding of high-quality coffee beans to ensure the perfect fineness. However, what makes the experience truly exceptional is the method of brewing the coffee on sand. In Cappadocia, specially designed sand-heated copper pots known as "cezve" are filled with water, coffee, and sugar, and placed on heated sand. This method allows for gentle and controlled heat distribution, enhancing the flavors and aromas of the coffee. With the pot nestled in the warm sand, it gradually reaches the desired temperature, resulting in a rich, flavorful brew. For visitors to Cappadocia, indulging in this unique experience is an extraordinary opportunity to immerse oneself in the customs, traditions, and flavors that make Turkey such a delightfully diverse destination.

Really good

The experience was really nice. The guide Elham was so funny and clear explaining. The coffee was really good. I recommend this experience. The meeting point is the owl hotel, not the tiny house that Google maps shows.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the experience, Elham’s fun and clear explanations, and of course the coffee! ☕️😊 We truly appreciate your recommendation. Thank you also for pointing out the meeting point. We’ll make sure to review the information provided to help guests find the correct location more easily. Kind regards, Tourmania Team

SO FUN & CUTE!

Such a fun little activity! Ilham was wonderful, he gave us context and history about the coffee and was a great workshop leader. The workshop had us wear a Turkish vest and hat, and make our own coffees. Then we drank our coffees w a complimentary turkish delight. Wishing Ilham and the hotel all the best! Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun lil quirky pick me up activity during your time here. :)

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for such a lovely and detailed review! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the coffee workshop with Ilham and appreciated learning about the history and traditions of Turkish coffee. We’re especially happy you enjoyed making your own coffee, wearing the traditional vest and hat, and finishing with Turkish delight ☕️😊 Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we’ll be sure to share your kind words with Elham. We hope to welcome you again! Kind regards 🧿 Tourmania Team

Sand-Brewed Turkish Coffee Workshop in Cappadocia: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Goreme.

How much does Sand-Brewed Turkish Coffee Workshop in Cappadocia cost?

+

Prices start at $13 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Goreme usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sand-Brewed Turkish Coffee Workshop in Cappadocia take?

+

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Goreme is not rushed.

Is Sand-Brewed Turkish Coffee Workshop in Cappadocia worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 101 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Goreme, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sand-Brewed Turkish Coffee Workshop in Cappadocia?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sand-Brewed Turkish Coffee Workshop in Cappadocia suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Sand-Brewed Turkish Coffee Workshop in Cappadocia?

+

Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Goreme can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Goreme and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sand-Brewed Turkish Coffee Workshop in Cappadocia start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Goreme within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Goreme?

+

On Outty we rank every Goreme experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Red (North) Tour Cappadocia (small group) with lunch and tickets, Green (South) Tour Cappadocia (small group) with lunch and ticket, Cappadocia Green Tour - Classic Route (Popular). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Goreme?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Goreme?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
