Don't Go If you Care About Humane Treatment
The abuse of the horses and mules are despicable! It ruined my trip to Dominican forever. I advise anyone to not use the horses or mules when visiting any of the falls. They are malnourished, beaten (I've seen it) and overworked. They are used to extort tips from the tourists and are not necessary because you have to walk on foot to many of the falls, and not accessible by horse. The short duration on the horse is a way to get tips from you, and the owners can get very aggressive. Many let it out on the horses!!! It's very sad.

Wonderful excursion
Do this excursion. It was an amazing day! We loved every aspect of it. The whale watching was phenomenal even though the water was a little rough. The photographer was excellent and photos at each stop for a reasonable price. Horseback riding was great. Make sure you bring extra tip money. These people deserve it.

Buyer beware: Set your expectations low and you might (or might not) enjoy this experience.
The good: The waterfall, lunch, horse ride, beautiful beach. Whale watching was mediocre The bad: false advertisement regarding breakfast. When we asked about breakfast arriving at the port, the guide said that the tour company should have told us the truth. That there was no breakfast included, due to time constraints. If you end up going, make sure to pack a light breakfast for the transport ride to the port. The ugly (there's a lot of ugly): late transport in the early morning, far longer than expected commute to and from port, customer service agents that work directly with this company are not responsive, and even go as far as hanging up on you when you're calling to ask questions and confirm some things. It seems like they just want to take your money and just have you shut up and not to bother them. Also the boat ride became nauseating due to the fumes of the exhaust from the boat. They need to fix the exhaust system so that way people aren't inhaling all the fumes on the ride. We had to cover our faces while whale watching. There were a bunch of people on the boat that got sick due to the exhaust fumes of the boat which lessen the experience of whale watching. We went on a day after it had rain, so the horse ride was fine for us, although we were slothing through muddy terrain, didn't affect us as tourist, however the guides were wearing poor rain boots and were constantly getting stuck in the mud themselves. We felt bad for the guides, realizing that they were volunteers and not getting paid. Considering how much work they're doing to get tourists to and from the waterfall area safely, they should have a minimum wage. This aspect probably disappointed me the most. If you can find other tour Agencies for this experience, I'd go that route instead. This company was way over priced and not worth it due to the above mentioned. If you can find a better company, then the whole experience is definitely worth a ride.

Not for the faint-hearted
This is a strenuous trip. 4-5 hours of driving depending on your pickup. 40 minutes each way on the boat where you will get soaked if the sea is anything but calm. Rough track for the horse ride that takes about 20 mins. Further steep steps to and from waterfall. Worse though was the lack of organisation and engagement from guides. Drivers seem to think that blasting music while the guide gives sparse details is ok. They play musical buses swapping people at various petrol station stops. Driving at high speeds while using mobile phones also seems the norm. However the waterfall was at full flow due to heavy rain and was worth seeing. The beach stop was also beautiful although only about an hour and fifteen minutes. Makes sure you use any toilets as soon as you see them as there is no break for this while driving. Food was less than average. Expensive trip that lacked quality and coordination.
