About this experience
Discover Austria’s two most famous gems—Salzburg and Hallstatt—without the rush and the crowds. We have designed a "Smart Route" to offer you the best possible experience: while most bus tours flock to Hallstatt in the morning, we visit Salzburg first, enjoying the city of Mozart while you are fresh. We then arrive in Hallstatt in the afternoon, just as the big tour groups are leaving, allowing you to enjoy the lakeside village in peace and tranquility. What sets this tour apart is our fully guided, personal approach. We don't just drop you off with a map and a meeting time. Your private guide walks with you every step of the way, showing you not only the iconic sights but also hidden courtyards, secret photo angles, and local spots that standard groups miss. Traveling with a separate professional driver means we can stop for coffee, souvenirs, or photos whenever you like. This is your day, at your own pace.

Fascinating and Scenic Tour of beautiful alpine towns
I had a wonderful guided trip with Jenny and Vlad. They are both fluent in multiple languages, and communication was never a problem. They also have university degrees in History, and could provide interesting background about everything that I was seeing. When walking through Gothic churches and medieval castles, Jenny could provide more information than a typical tour guide. They were punctual and efficient in arranging everything. Even small touches like checking often to see if I had enough water available on a hot summer day was appreciated. Sometimes when traveling in a foreign country I can feel a little unsafe, but I always felt completely safe when traveling with them. I would highly recommend Cozy Travel, and I plan to use their tour services in the future.

It’s wonderful to know that you felt safe, cared for, and inspired during our time together — that’s exactly what we always hope to create. Your curiosity, kindness, and genuine interest make every tour we share something special. We're already looking forward to the next adventures we’ll plan together — and we’ve got some exciting ideas we can’t wait to share with you! Until then, take care and know that you're always warmly welcome with us. With gratitude and warmest wishes, Jenny & Vlad 💛

Memorable Trip
Our tour guide, Jane is just superb! Our driver is also very professional. It was smooth sailing all the way. We visited 4 places actually starting in Trunkirchen, then Hallstatt, short stop at Wolfgang village and finally Salzburg. Jane is very knowledgeable about vienna's history and she can tell you alot of stories about them in the car. The restaurant she recommended us in Hallstatt serves us local food. The fish soup was my favourite. She is accommodating all the way. I am most grateful she took us to a local restaurant for dinner and the goulash was just so good! I fully recommend this if you are looking for customised day trip to Hallstatt and Salzburg.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind words. We are very happy that our trip together was memorable for you and that we were able to show you the beautiful Austria at its best. We will be glad to help you in choosing tours to other destinations in Austria and nearby!

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Salzburg & Hallstatt: The Smart Route Private Tour (Driver+Guide): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Salzburg & Hallstatt: The Smart Route Private Tour (Driver+Guide) cost?
+
Prices start at $190 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Salzburg & Hallstatt: The Smart Route Private Tour (Driver+Guide) take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Salzburg & Hallstatt: The Smart Route Private Tour (Driver+Guide) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Salzburg & Hallstatt: The Smart Route Private Tour (Driver+Guide)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Salzburg & Hallstatt: The Smart Route Private Tour (Driver+Guide) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Salzburg & Hallstatt: The Smart Route Private Tour (Driver+Guide)?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Salzburg & Hallstatt: The Smart Route Private Tour (Driver+Guide) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
