What you'll see and do
Salt River
Meet us at our Salt River satellite location on the Fort Apache Reservation between Globe and Show Low, AZ. Once there, you'll sign waivers and suit up for the river! If you're rafting with us in March or April, you'll probably have a wetsuit included with your reservation. It's a short walk down to the river with your guides where you'll have a safety orientation, and then hop in the boats and go. Be ready to tackle 10 miles of whitewater with constant class II and class III throughout the entire trip. After a couple of hours, we’ll stop at our established camp for a hot grilled steak lunch. Then it’s back in the boats for more rapids. The biggest rapid is right by the take out, offering up a grand finale before you paddle over to the beach for the trip’s end. We’ll then shuttle you back to your vehicle along Apache Road 1, which is often just as exciting as the rafting trip itself!

A must!
This is a great day trip full of fun and adventure. We were so lucky to get Annie as our river guide. She was very knowledgeable and encouraging the whole way. She kept us informed about what was coming and general information about the area. We always knew what to expect and she did an excellent job of navigating our raft. I really appreciated that! She was awesome. The river and scenery was beautiful. Lots of rapids and a fast moving river this time of year. We are definitely already planning our next trip. Thank you so much!
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the 5-star review! It means a lot to us. We are so happy that you enjoyed your rafting trip, learning about the area, and the expertise of your guide, Annie! We can't wait to accompany you on your next trip in Arizona, Colorado, or Utah.

Floating the Salt River
We celebrated our 47 year Wedding anniversary on March 31 with a trip on the Upper Salt River. Mike did a great job of getting us down the river in one piece. He was very knowledgeable on the river and plant and animals living in the Salt River Canyon. Will plan our next trip down the Salt in the future.
Response from the operator: Happy belated anniversary! It makes us so happy to know you chose Mild to Wild for your wedding anniversary rafting trip - thank you. We are so glad that you enjoyed your time with Mike, we love Mike too! We can't wait to have you again on your next Salt trip :)

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Salt River Full Day Rafting Trip With Lunch - Arizona: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Claypool.
How much does Salt River Full Day Rafting Trip With Lunch - Arizona cost?
+
Prices start at $241 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Claypool usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Salt River Full Day Rafting Trip With Lunch - Arizona take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Claypool is not rushed.
Is Salt River Full Day Rafting Trip With Lunch - Arizona worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Claypool, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Salt River Full Day Rafting Trip With Lunch - Arizona?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Salt River Full Day Rafting Trip With Lunch - Arizona suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Salt River Full Day Rafting Trip With Lunch - Arizona?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Claypool can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Claypool and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Salt River Full Day Rafting Trip With Lunch - Arizona start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Claypool within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Claypool?
+
On Outty we rank every Claypool experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Salt River Whitewater Rafting Trip, Salt River Full Day Express Rafting Trip - Arizona, Classic Salt River Raft Trip. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Claypool?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Claypool?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
