  7. Abadia De Montserrat

It is the heart of the monastery. Here is the image of the Virgin of Montserrat, also known as "La Moreneta" due to its dark color. The Basilica, with Gothic and Renaissance influences, has an impressive façade with sculpted details and large bronze doors, the work of artist Josep Subirachs. The interior of the Basilica is vast and majestic, with a high vaulted ceiling and a series of side chapels. Virgin of Montserrat: The true jewel of the Basilica is the Romanesque carving of the Virgin of Montserrat, popularly known as "La Moreneta" due to its dark tone. The carving is believed to date back to the 12th century. The Virgin holds the Child Jesus on her lap and in her right hand she holds a sphere that symbolizes the universe. The image is located in a dressing room behind the main altar, and there is a staircase that allows visitors to approach and venerate the image.

60 minutes here · Admission included

  8. La Creu de Sant Miquel is a cross located on a viewpoint in Montserrat, a short walk from the main monastery. The elevated location offers stunning panoramic views of the monastery, the mountain and, on clear days, the surrounding valley and beyond. The structure itself is an iron cross that stands on a stone pedestal. It is simple but symbolic, and is located in a place that has traditionally been a point of stopping and reflection for pilgrims and visitors. The name "Creu de Sant Miquel" translates as "Cross of Saint Michael". Saint Michael is one of the best-known archangels in Christian tradition and is often depicted as a protector and leader of the heavenly armies. In the context of Montserrat, the cross serves as a reminder of the spiritual protection and divine presence on the sacred mountain.

Salt Mountain, Cruces Forest, Wines and Montserrat Small group: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Salt Mountain, Cruces Forest, Wines and Montserrat Small group cost?

+

Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Salt Mountain, Cruces Forest, Wines and Montserrat Small group take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Salt Mountain, Cruces Forest, Wines and Montserrat Small group worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Salt Mountain, Cruces Forest, Wines and Montserrat Small group?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Salt Mountain, Cruces Forest, Wines and Montserrat Small group suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Salt Mountain, Cruces Forest, Wines and Montserrat Small group?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Salt Mountain, Cruces Forest, Wines and Montserrat Small group start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

+

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

+

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
