Big rock cave
It’s more of a rock cave than an actual salt mine. The carvings of the crosses were decent… nothing spectacular. It’s a huge place though and the girls we went with took a ton of pics and wanted to shop inside the mine. So by the time we got out, it was noon. We went to eat, then back to Bogota. The tour guide was super nice and talkative but we were bummed when she said we didn’t have time to go to the Zipaquira square. Would’ve been nice to at least drive past it but we didn’t see it at all.
Response from the operator: Hello, we are sorry that the salt cathedral did not meet your travel expectations, but in the product description it does not say that it is a salt mine and that they are going to show you the process, we understand that for your taste it is a simple rock, but our service is to take you comfortably in a private transport from your hotel and show them the first wonder of Colombia in architecture that they have a gastronomic experience by trying a typical dish of the region and that our guide supports them with all the possible information about Colombia and feel that Colombia is the country friendliest in the world and as you mention we fulfill it and if you wish you can book with us a tour to the Nemocon salt mine which is an active mine and they teach you the salt process and it is a different experience. we are here to serve you

serendipitous antagonist of more celebrated settings
Bolivar Plaza appears clumsy compared. This was clean salubrious and with poised theatricity, retaining its ingredients. It added to the overblown Salt Cathedral saga. Spanish Colonial style, colourful and with the town fragrant and in a good scale. Worth walking, enjoying the poetic simplicity. The open, undulating surface wise square, provides space and foregone time pervades it

Great tour!
This tour was awesome, I highly recommend it for any tourists looking for something different to do outside of the normal site seeing in Bogota. Cindy was an awesome guide and very insightful on all our questions.
Response from the operator: thank you for your opinion and we are pleased that it was unforgettable.

Such an amazing private tour of the Salt Cathedral!
Any visit to Bogota should include a visit to the Salt Cathedral with this company! Cindy was outstanding and a gracious host! Pedro was a fantastic driver and the two of them made this visit to Bogota magical! Cindy’s knowledge and love for her country was evident and I was treated like royalty throughout the entire tour. The cathedral was such an incredible and interesting place to see as was the town of Zipacuira. Stunning architecture, wonderful people! Please take the time to visit!
Response from the operator: We are very happy that you were comfortable and we hope you visit us again.

Salt Cathedral Tour Transport, Entrance Ticket and Lunch Included: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.
How much does Salt Cathedral Tour Transport, Entrance Ticket and Lunch Included cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Salt Cathedral Tour Transport, Entrance Ticket and Lunch Included take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.
Is Salt Cathedral Tour Transport, Entrance Ticket and Lunch Included worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 56 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Salt Cathedral Tour Transport, Entrance Ticket and Lunch Included?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Salt Cathedral Tour Transport, Entrance Ticket and Lunch Included suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Salt Cathedral Tour Transport, Entrance Ticket and Lunch Included?
+
Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Salt Cathedral Tour Transport, Entrance Ticket and Lunch Included start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bogotá?
+
On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Bogota Zipaquira Salt Cathedral Private Tour + Lunch, Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bogotá?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bogotá?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
