Salt Cathedral and a Delicious Dinner

Had a wonderful day visiting the Salt Cathedral and having dinner at Andre’s Carne de Res in Chía. Natalia picked us up. She was very friendly and warm. We had great conversation and learned information about the city on the drive to the salt Cathedral. The salt Cathedral was amazing to you think of the work that went in to building this spectacular site. We then drove to dinner where we ate and drank for the next three hours. This is a must do when coming to Bogotá. Also, this is a great tour for people who like to be a little independent, but have the convenience of a tour.

Response from the operator: We are deeply grateful that you chose our services at Transfers & Tours Colombia. It brings us immense joy to know that your experience visiting the Salt Cathedral and enjoying dinner at Andre's Carne de Res in Chía was wonderful. We cherish your kind words about Natalia and are delighted that you enjoyed the conversations and information provided during your journey. It's an honor for us to have contributed to making your visit to Bogotá an unforgettable experience. We look forward to the pleasure of serving you again in the near future. Thank you so much for trusting us!

Convenient and Friendly

Our tour included a van from the hotel, English guide, entry to the Salt Cathedral and a reservation at Andres de Carne (cost of dinner not included). The van was comfortable and the guide was very friendly. The tour did not include a guide in the salt cathedral itself. You have the option of inviting your guide to dinner with you, with the understanding that you'd pay for their dinner. We tipped 50M pesos each for the driver and guide. You could probably book a car directly for less.

Had a great experience - driver was...

Had a great experience - driver was an EXCELLENT DJ and played great tunes the whole way. My guide showed me around the Zipaquira square, got me set up with an English tour inside the salt cathedral, met me after and joined me for dinner at Andres Carne de Res. The restaurant was so playful and fun, go with an open mind and ready to dance. Food was great, with tons of options for every taste. Highly recommend!

Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res: Culture and Gastronomy: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.

How much does Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res: Culture and Gastronomy cost?

+

Prices start at $118 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res: Culture and Gastronomy take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.

Is Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res: Culture and Gastronomy worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res: Culture and Gastronomy?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res: Culture and Gastronomy suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res: Culture and Gastronomy?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res: Culture and Gastronomy start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bogotá?

+

On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria., Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Viejo Bogota Food Tour with 12+ Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bogotá?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bogotá?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
