    1. Cancun

Our Cancun food tour offers guests a culinary experience around the city's medina. It's a carefully curated food adventure, led by our team of Cancun tastemakers. Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, and the limitations of street food vendors and local eateries mean we cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, no pork diet and lactose intolerance as the number of tastings would be very limited. ✔ Gluten intolerance, mild nut allergies and no seafood diets are possible, though some tastings do not have alternatives available If you are feeling adventurous for a foodie journey, read on!

    2. Cancun

This four-hour evening food tour explores Cancún beyond the Hotel Zone, where locals head after dark to eat. The experience visits neighbourhood markets, taco carts, and family-run eateries, offering 15+ tastings that showcase the city’s most authentic flavours away from the resorts. Along the way, you’ll sample a wide range of Mexican favourites, including crusty tortas filled with slow-roasted lechón pork, comforting bowls of Guerrero-style pozole with hominy, and charcoal-grilled beef tacos fresh from the fire. The tastings continue with refreshing chilli-spiked nieves, classic Mexican flan, and local mezcal ice cream finished with a spirited drizzle, among many more. Although Cancún is a relatively young city, its food culture reflects traditions brought by migrants from across Mexico. This guided evening tour offers a generous and authentic introduction to the dishes locals know best, rarely found in resort restaurants.

    This tour was an amazing...

This tour was an amazing way to spend our evening in Cancun. We tried so many different foods and got a real taste of local Mexican culture. Saul was incredible, his knowledge of the area, the food and the traditions of Mexico made our tour really memorable. He gave us so many good recommendations and answered all our questions. Thanks for an amazing tour

    Great sampling of local cuisine

We went on this tour at the end of July. It was hot so be prepared with a lot of water and a fan! Despite the heat and sweating buckets we had a great time. The places we visited were all good, some more than others. The tastings were small but by the end of the tour we were all stuffed and had to take our flan from the last stop to go. Our guide, Saul was very knowledgeable and shared information about the culture and history of the downtown. If you want a local experience, completely different from the resort-life, this would be it!

    Delicious food, incredible guide

Incredible! Delicious food and great guide. We brought our 3 teenage kids and everyone loved everything about this tour. My personal favorites were the torta and the al pastor taco

Great food, authentic experience, perfect host

Antonio was the BEST guide!! I cannot begin to express my utmost gratitude for his kindness, patience, and kind spirit. My husband is disabled after having a stroke, he has trouble walking and unable to speak in sentences. Antonio made us feel very special and took his time navigating around given our situation. He catered to our specific needs. We are both absolutely stuffed from eating all the delicious food. My husband and I shared everything, the abundance of food was actually insane…. The value was beyond exceptional. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, we will see each other another time, my friend.

Salsa Streets Cancun Food Tour with 15+ Tastings: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Salsa Streets Cancun Food Tour with 15+ Tastings cost?

    +

How far in advance should I book Salsa Streets Cancun Food Tour with 15+ Tastings?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
