Incredible Adventure
Jose the tour guide and the rest of the crew at Andes Peru Tour and Adventure gave us a truly unforgettable and incredible experience on the 4 days trek to Machu Picchu. Andes Peru Tour and Adventure do a fantastic job of organising the logistics of the hike so you can enjoy the stunning beauty that surrounds you at every turn. Jose was incredibly enthusiastic, knowledgable and knew all answers to our endless questions. The porters and the chef together worked some magic in the kitchen and together produced some of the best food we had in Peru. Seriously, we are talking 3 course meals in the middle of nowhere!
Response from the operator: Very grateful with your visit to our country. We are excited to know that you liked our service and mention our guide Jose. It was a pleasure to be part of your adventure thank you very much.

What a unique, memorable, and fun experience!!
My friend and I planned a trip to Peru in order to visit the wonder of Machu Picchu and we also wanted to do some serious hiking and sightseeing along the way... luckily, we chose the Salkantay Trek led by Jose at Andes Peru Tour and Adventure. I had high hopes going into this trip and they were all surpassed by this fun, intense, beautiful, and unique 4-day trek. Jose was an amazing tour guide - super fun and friendly and there was never a dull moment on the hike. We saw so many wild animals, beautiful sights, met wonderful people from all around the region, and pushed ourselves so that by the end of the trek I felt as if I had accomplished something truly worthwhile. My friend and I had some hiking experience in the past and wanted to embark upon an adventure that would be the next level up -- this was surely it! We got into somewhat decent shape for the hike and the first day up to Salkantay was still quite intense! Intense -- but fun! I don't want to give too much of the hike away in this review as one of my favorite parts was learning about what we were going to see each day and choosing fun 'side-adventures'. In summary, I cannot recommend the Salkantay Trek or Andes Peru Tour and Adventure enough!! This is a memory I will cherish for a long, long time. Thank you so much!
Response from the operator: my dear friends harry and matt. for andes peru it was a privilege to have a wonderful experience. the adventure was complete we had in our tour of salkaytay to machupicchu and we will always remember you as the cougars of salkaytay. and we look forward to your soon return.

Beyond my expectations!
I had been planning this trip for years and wanted to make this lifetime trek a memorable one. After doing a lot of research I settled down for Andes Peru Tour and Adventure. Jose Ttito, the owner was quick to respond to all my queries while I was booking the tour from back home. He assured me that this indeed would be a memorable experience. Upon my arrival to Cusco, he picked me up from the airport and drove me to my hotel. On the way he gave me a brief introduction to the city and their culture and brought me some coca leaves to ensure that I qquickly get acclimatised. Before the day of the trek he walked into my hotel and briefed me on things to carry and to my surprise, he was mu guide throughout the trek. I felt extremely safe and felt like I was trekking this with a friend I had known for years. Jose´s sense of humor and knowledge on the history and culture was extremely impressive. I highly recommend them.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your nice words and for me and Andes peru tour all the customers are very important and very special and that is why we try to make your trip to Machupicchu unforgettable. Thank you very much.

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in 4 Days: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in 4 Days cost?
+
Prices start at $650 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in 4 Days take?
+
Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in 4 Days worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in 4 Days?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in 4 Days suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 96-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in 4 Days?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in 4 Days start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
