    What you'll see and do

    1. Broad Street Cemetery

Begin at one of Salem's oldest burial grounds, established in 1655. Judge Jonathan Corwin and Sheriff George Corwin—two powerful figures connected to the trials—rest in the Corwin family tomb here. Across the street, see the circa-1660 Pickering House, one of Salem's oldest surviving homes.

      10 minutes here

    2. Proctor's Ledge Memorial

Visit the confirmed location where nineteen people accused of witchcraft were hanged in 1692. For centuries, the executions were believed to have taken place higher on Gallows Hill. Researchers eventually confirmed Proctor's Ledge as the actual location, and the memorial now honors all nineteen victims.

      10 minutes here

    3. Peabody

Drive through land once known as Salem Farms, where ordinary families raised crops and livestock during the witch-trial era. John Proctor and Giles and Martha Corey were among the famous victims who lived and farmed in this area before accusations changed their lives forever.

      10 minutes here

    4. Samuel Parris Archaeological Site

Walk to one of the most important locations in the entire Salem Witch Trials story. Reverend Samuel Parris lived here with his family when his young daughter Betty and niece Abigail Williams began experiencing mysterious fits. Their accusations helped ignite the crisis that became the Salem Witch Trials. The original parsonage disappeared long ago, but archaeologists uncovered its stone foundations in 1970, and visitors can walk to the remains today.

      10 minutes here

    5. Finish the tour at the memorial honoring the twenty-five people who died as a result of the Salem Witch Trials—the nineteen who were hanged, Giles Corey, who was pressed to death, and five others who died in prison. The location provides a fitting conclusion to the journey: the tour begins in Salem, where the trials ended, and finishes in Danvers—the former Salem Village—where the accusations began.

      10 minutes here

    6. Stand near the site of the original Salem Village Meeting House, where magistrates examined some of the first people accused of witchcraft. This area served as both the religious and civic center of Salem Village when the hysteria erupted.

    GPS App - Nicely executed

This service used a dedicated app with a navigation feature to narrate an automobile tour of sites in and around Salem. The service worked quite well. The order of the presentation, the ability to coordinate the audio topic with your real time location, the quality of the voice, and the substance of the narration were excellent. Very well thought-out and more than worth the cost of admission. I was so impressed that I purchased the add-on service for a year. This gives me access to the company's complete inventory of tours and other worthwhile advantages.

An amazing way to see the real Salem Witch Trial history

This was a great experience! It was like having a passionate, knowledgeable tour guide in the car with you. But....you could start and stop at your pace, go to the bathroom anytime you needed or rewind if you missed something. Even better than that Greg took us to spots off the beaten path, away from the crowds, that were the real sites of the Salem trials. It was like being let past a velvet rope to get the up close and personal story. The GPS worked flawlessly and guided you the whole way. Great, easy directions. Greg spent a lot of time building a seamless tour. Just a great experience!!! Thanks Greg!

    Love the tour

It's a great tour. There are not a lot of places to pull over spots and the traffic in Salem is a challenge.

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Salem?

    +

September to October for atmosphere, May to June for smaller crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
