    Not very informative

Not worth it. Not much info given. Very short. Not walkable at alll. You are better to do a tour by bus with much more information.

Response from the operator: Hi Amy, we’re sorry the tour wasn’t what you expected. Our Salem Ghost Tour actually includes two separate self-guided walking tours at no extra cost. The first covers many of Salem’s most important witch trial and haunted sites, while the second is a bonus tour focused on a much more compact, walkable area in downtown Salem. We created and provided the second tour (Underground Salem) to address the issues you pointed out - please take it! Many guests choose to complete one or both depending on how much time they have. We also respectfully disagree that the tour lacks information. It contains detailed narration and historical stories at each stop, but we understand that self-guided walking tours aren’t for everyone. If you were looking for a guided bus tour, that may simply have been a better fit for your travel style. Thank you for your feedback—we’re always looking for ways to make the experience clearer for future guests.

    Fun, historical

Took the tour in English, was happy to see there was an extra Salem tour route for free when I logged in. Didn't have to download an app, which is good.

Response from the operator: Hello! Thank you for your feedback.

When is the best time to visit Salem?

    +

September to October for atmosphere, May to June for smaller crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Salem?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
