Unforgettable diving experience
What an unforgettable diving experience! We joined the Salem Express wreck dive from Safaga, and honestly, it was something very special. The whole trip was well organised, from the pickup to the boat journey, and the diving team were friendly, polite and professional. They explained everything clearly before the dive, which made us feel comfortable and well prepared. Diving at the Salem Express is very different from a normal reef dive. The wreck is impressive, and seeing it underwater gives you a feeling that is difficult to describe. At the same time, you cannot forget the tragic history of this ship and the many lives lost in the disaster. It is a place that deserves respect, so the experience felt more emotional and meaningful than we expected. Our dive guides were helpful and attentive, making sure everyone followed the safety instructions and felt comfortable underwater. The Red Sea visibility was beautiful, and exploring such a famous wreck was a real highlight for anyone interested in wreck diving. Lunch on the boat was nice, and there was time to relax between activities and enjoy the views of the sea. The price felt reasonable for such a unique diving trip, especially considering the boat journey, professional guidance and lunch included. However, I would recommend this experience mainly to certified divers who have the appropriate experience for wreck diving, rather than complete beginners. My advice is to listen carefully to your dive guide, check your equipment properly and take a moment to learn about the wreck's history before going. It makes the experience much more meaningful. Overall, a very memorable day with a professional crew and an incredible dive site. Highly recommended for experienced divers visiting the Red Sea.

Hauntingly beautiful wreck dive, very respectful crew
diving the Salem Express has been on my bucket list for years and this trip did not dissapoint. the wreck is massive and resting on its starboard side, covered in soft corals and schools of glassfish. our dive guide gave a very thorough and somber historical briefing before we entered the water, emphasizing safety and respect for the site which i really appreciated. transfer from soma bay was prompt in the morning. boat was spacious with clean rinse tanks for our regulators and cameras. warm buffet lunch served between the two dives was hearty and tasty. deeply moving experience.

NEVER MISS IT OUT :-)
My partner and I specifically booked this day trip to dive the Salem Express, and it surpassed all expectations. The operation was run like clockwork—from the hotel pickup to the attentive boat crew who had fresh towels and hot tea waiting after every dive. Exploring the outer structure and lifeboats is genuinely powerful and moving. The dive master ensured we kept a respectful distance while still seeing the most poignant features. Lunch onboard was plentiful, fresh, and very flavorful. A flawless five-star operation!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re truly delighted to hear that you and your partner had such a memorable experience diving the Salem Express. Our team takes great pride in providing a smooth, professional operation while ensuring every dive is conducted with the respect and sensitivity this historic wreck deserves. We’re glad you appreciated the attentive crew, the little comforts on board, and the delicious lunch. Your kind words mean a lot to our entire team! We hope to welcome you both back for more incredible diving adventures in the Red Sea.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
