Just what we were looking for
The good news is that we really enjoyed the tour, the bad news is that now we are going to have to pay for a private tour of future major museums that we visit :). The Egyptian museum has so many artifacts that it is impossible to absorb them all in a short period of time. Osama was able to take us to the most important pieces and provide great background and insight into the important collection. For the Coptic churches, he was great at pointing out the history and details for each church we visited. His calm demeanor was perfect for a museum and church tour environment.

Knowledgeable Guide
We had an amazing time with our guide Salib and our driver. Pick up at the hotel was smooth and on time. We arrived at the Egyptian museum early enough to be one of the first people inside. He explained all of the main things to see and then gave us some free time to explore the museum on our own which was much appreciated! He offered to stop at a jewelry store to see the gold and silver items (again appreciated as another guide through a different company made multiple stops like this without asking if it was okay). We then went to Coptic Cairo to see several churches and a synagogue. Lunch was offered (we declined). We then went Khan El Khalili where we walked through the area while learning about the history. Salib was very knowledgeable. He and our driver were also very kind (opening the doors each time we got in and out). He purchased water for us when we finished what we brought. He also made sure we could stop back by the jewelry store to pick up our cartouches rather than having them dropped off at the hotel when they were finished. I would recommend him as a guide to anyone!

Highly recommended
Our guide, Salib, was really excellent and made our tour such a highlight for us. Salib was extremely knowledgeable, passionate, friendly and so very humble. It was such a pleasure having him as a guide, we left with a wealth of knowledge that is so invaluable. We enjoyed every part of the trip, the Egyptian Museum was a wow factor, we loved seeing the beautiful churches in Coptic Cairo, especially the Cavern where the Holy Family stayed. It was also so good going through the Bazaar with him, he took us to all the perfect spots where we could get the items we wanted at bargain prices, saving us sooo much money! We also arrived at all attractions just before the big tour groups which was great. Salib also arranged for us to have lunch at one of the boat restaurants, it was so last minute and he made it happen for us, got us a table with a great view and the staff treating us like VIPs. Overall it was a wonderful tour, I highly recommend the private tour, personal touch is given!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sakkara Memphis old Egyptian Museum Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Sakkara Memphis old Egyptian Museum Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sakkara Memphis old Egyptian Museum Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Sakkara Memphis old Egyptian Museum Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sakkara Memphis old Egyptian Museum Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sakkara Memphis old Egyptian Museum Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sakkara Memphis old Egyptian Museum Private Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sakkara Memphis old Egyptian Museum Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
