    About this experience

This Session is personally hosted by the owner — a former sake brewer who trained for a year at a sake brewery in Osaka. It is a masterclass-style experience where you can learn about the history, brewing process, and cultural depth of Japanese sake while savoring its diverse flavors. The session takes place at "Sake Pairing Bar Potan", a refined space designed with traditional Japanese architecture where sake truly takes center stage. Located in the Fukushima area, just minutes from central Osaka, it offers a serene yet accessible setting to learn directly from a sake professional. As for me, the owner — I Traveled around 35 countries at the age of 20, immersing myself in different cultures. That journey made me rediscover the beauty and richness of Japan, inspiring me to share its culture with people around the world through sake. Beyond sake itself, I also love cross-cultural exchange, and I look forward to enjoying meaningful conversations with all of you during the experience.

    It was a 10/10 experience...

It was a 10/10 experience that was incredibly thought throught. It was really interesting hearing a breakdown of the making process for sake. All the different sake we tasted were also very delicious. Our guide was made the experience even better by being very kind and easy to talk to. Highly recommend this experience

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review — this is Yuki! A 10/10 means a lot to me! I’m really happy you enjoyed not only tasting the different sakes, but also learning about how sake is made and the ideas behind each style. Sake can get quite technical, so I always try to make it approachable, interesting, and most importantly, fun to drink. It was a pleasure chatting with you throughout the tasting. Thank you for recommending the experience, and I hope to welcome you back for another sake adventure next time you’re in Osaka! Kanpai! 🍶 Yuki

    Yuki was an incredible...

Yuki was an incredible guide to the world of Sake. The sake was amazing, we definitely don’t get sake like this back in the states!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review — this is Yuki! I’m really happy you enjoyed exploring the world of sake with me. Japan has such an incredible variety of sake, so it was a pleasure introducing you to some bottles and styles that are harder to come across back in the States. Hopefully, we’ve made choosing sake back home a little more fun — and maybe a little more difficult now that your standards are higher! Thank you again, and I hope to share a few more special bottles with you next time you’re in Osaka. Kanpai! 🍶 Yuki

    Japanese sake tasting discovery experience.

Whether you know little or nothing about Japanese sake, it's an experience worth having. The setting is friendly and discovering good products is done in a relaxed atmosphere.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review — this is Yuki! I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the experience of discovering sake. One of my goals is to create a space where anyone — whether completely new to sake or already a fan — can feel comfortable exploring it at their own pace. Sake can seem complex at first, but I believe it becomes much more enjoyable when experienced in a friendly and welcoming environment. Thank you again for spending time with us in Osaka. I hope your sake journey continues long after your trip. Kanpai! 🍶Yuki

    What a wonderful...

What a wonderful experience! Yuki was a fantastic host, speaks great English, and demonstrates his knowledge of the sake craft with grace and laughter. We drank delicious sake, had a few tasty bites, and left with a much better working knowledge of sake. Price was quite reasonable for a HEALTHY amount of sake, matching snacks, and Yuki’s knowledge. The bar space is gorgeous, designed and purpose-built by Yuki and his father.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful review — this is Yuki! I’m truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the sake, the food, and the overall experience. Sharing the world of sake through conversation, laughter, and discovery is exactly what I hope guests can take away from their time here. I especially appreciate your kind words about the space itself. Designing and building this bar together with my father was a very personal journey for us, so hearing that the atmosphere left such an impression means a great deal to me. And yes… perhaps the amount of sake was a little “generous” 😄 But I’m glad you left with both happy memories and a deeper understanding of sake. Thank you again for spending your time with us in Osaka. I hope we can share another glass together someday. Kanpai! 🍶 Yuki

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Osaka?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Osaka?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
