Caution
Overall, we were unfortunately not satisfied with the boat trip. The sleeping arrangements were quite uncomfortable. The mattress was higher on both sides, which caused us to constantly roll towards the middle. After a few hours, we were basically lying in our own sweat. The air conditioning only worked in the evening and occasionally stopped working altogether. There were also extremely loud engine noises throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. In addition, there were simply not enough places to sit comfortably during the trip. These are things we could have accepted to some extent, as it is a boat trip and we understand that the conditions cannot be compared to a hotel. However, the biggest disappointment was the whale shark experience. We had specifically agreed that my girlfriend and I would be woken up when the whale sharks appeared. Unfortunately, we were not woken up, while the other guests got to see them. This was especially frustrating because seeing the whale sharks was one of the main reasons we booked the tour in the first place. While we were still on the boat, the guide told us that he would speak to the manager and arrange a partial refund because of what happened. After the trip ended, however, both the guide and the organization stopped responding to our messages and completely ignored us. Mistakes can happen, and we could have accepted that. What is not acceptable is promising to resolve the issue and then simply ignoring the customers afterwards. For these reasons, we unfortunately cannot recommend this tour.

BEST COMPANY RECOMANDED
We had an amazing trip. If you are a low-cost traveler who doesn't need much privacy or luxury, I highly recommend it—you will have so much fun. Just be prepared for a simpler experience, as the boat itself isn't a luxury cruiser and had its flaws. However, it was a wonderful experience and we saw everything we were supposed to see, including whale sharks, dolphins, turtles, baby sharks and komodo dragons. We stayed in the deck class, and the group of people we shared it with was fantastic. A huge thank you to our guide, Herman—he was incredibly sweet, always smiling, and constantly checking if we needed anything. The entire crew was just as lovely and helpful. The food was also great. Two quick tips for future travelers: definitely bring your own snorkeling mask if you have one, as the provided gear isn't the best. Also, pack some sickness pills, as the waves were quite big and many people on board felt unwell. Highly recommended!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your great review! We’re happy to have been part of your trip during your vacation in Gili Trawangan. Warm regards, Sukatrip

Incredible spots to see in Indonesia.. but please be aware of how rough the seas get at certain times of year!
We had a great time on the trip and the spots we stopped off at were incredible. Particularly, the snorkelling spot on pink beach had the most incredible coral I had ever seen!! I also loved the vibe of the staff and would recommend getting a private room. I must add the whale sharks are fed, but this was an incredible way to get so close to these beautiful animals. I cannot say anything negative about the stops here, it was a once in a lifetime. I had not read on any comments or reviews previously, however, how rough the sea got. For 1.5 days of the trip the sea is very rough (I went beginning of August and our guide told us it is worst June-July). But I would just do research on this as there was so much sea sickness, and a lot of people couldn’t sleep etc. Was quite scary, so maybe just research the time of year you are going. I also heard there have been issues with other boats on the same trip previously due to rough seas and I am not surprised. So given the calm time of year, I wouldn’t hesitate to go!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and honest review! 🙏😊 We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the trip, especially the incredible coral at Pink Beach, the snorkeling spots, and the atmosphere with our crew. It’s wonderful to know that the experience felt like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. ❤️ We also really appreciate you mentioning the sea conditions. The waters between Lombok and Komodo can indeed become quite rough, particularly during certain periods of the year. Sea conditions are affected by weather and seasonal conditions, and unfortunately, they can be difficult to predict perfectly. We always recommend that guests check the expected conditions and prepare accordingly if they are prone to seasickness. Regarding the whale sharks, we appreciate you sharing your experience. We understand that seeing these beautiful animals up close is a very special moment, and we’re glad you enjoyed the encounter. Thank you again for recommending the trip and for your honest advice to future travelers. We hope to welcome you back to Indonesia for another adventure with Sukatrip! 🌊🏝️🐋

The most incredible spots in Indonesia, but please be aware of the rough ocean!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and honest review. 🙏 We’re delighted to hear that you had a great time and enjoyed the incredible snorkeling spots, especially the coral at Pink Beach. We’re also very happy that you enjoyed the atmosphere and our crew, and we appreciate your recommendation regarding the private cabin. 😊 We especially appreciate your comments about the sea conditions. The Lombok–Komodo route is a long ocean journey, and sea conditions can sometimes become quite rough depending on the season and weather. Unfortunately, this is something that is beyond our control, but we always do our best to operate the trip safely and assist guests who experience seasickness. Your advice to future travelers to check the seasonal sea conditions before booking is very helpful. We also recommend that guests who are sensitive to motion consider bringing appropriate seasickness medication and preparing in advance. Regarding the whale sharks, we understand that some guests may have concerns about feeding practices. We’re glad that, despite this, you were able to appreciate the opportunity to see these magnificent animals up close. Thank you again for choosing Sukatrip and for your recommendation. We’re very happy that, overall, the experience became a memorable and once-in-a-lifetime adventure for you. 🌊🐋🏝️ We hope to welcome you back for another Indonesian adventure! 🙏

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sailing to Komodo island trip 4D 3N from lombok: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lombok.
How much does Sailing to Komodo island trip 4D 3N from lombok cost?
+
Prices start at $266 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lombok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sailing to Komodo island trip 4D 3N from lombok take?
+
Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lombok is not rushed.
Is Sailing to Komodo island trip 4D 3N from lombok worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lombok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sailing to Komodo island trip 4D 3N from lombok?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sailing to Komodo island trip 4D 3N from lombok suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 96-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Sailing to Komodo island trip 4D 3N from lombok?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lombok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lombok and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sailing to Komodo island trip 4D 3N from lombok start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lombok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lombok?
+
On Outty we rank every Lombok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tetebatu Walking Tour - Rice Terraces, Waterfall & Monkey Forest, Anggrek Putih Lombok Cooking Class & Garden Tour, Exclusive Private Experience: 5 Secret Gili Islands. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lombok?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lombok?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
