    Howler monkeys!

Absolute gem! We went on the morning tour and was picked up at 0730 am by Carlos (our boat guide) & Fabiano (our driver). We also had Juan (the other boat guide) and 3 other gust with our family of 4. They were all amazing, knowledgeable, friendly. We got to see a 2 toed sloth, multitude of birds, and Howler monkeys! Sadly, no Cayman. We had fresh fruit including cacao to cap it off. It was a nice and leisurely ride. Highly recommend!

Peaceful float on the Penas Blancas River

We had a lovely float down the Penas Blancas River with our guides Carlos and Keilor. Our two boys ages 10 and 7 really enjoyed the experience and trying to spot various animals while on the raft. I could tell our guides really loved their jobs and sharing the beauty of their country with others. After a pretty jam packed week, it was nice to sit on a raft and float through the peaceful river. They brought a small tree to be planted by the river bank which my son and husband participated in. I thought it was a such nice way to give back to nature. Afterwards, there was a beautiful spread of fruit waiting for us. We really enjoyed this excursion!

    Plant a tree

You definitely see a lot of animals on this tour, and they provide a delicious spread of fruits at the end. One part of the tour features planting a tree along the river giving back to nature which i thought was unique considering how much tourism can hurt an ecosystem.

Nice float down a rainforest river

We met up with our guide and drove in a van to the entry point to the river. On the way we were discussing the area and already looking for animals. Before we got in the river our guide explained the signals he would give us while on the raft. We got on the raft and proceeded to have a great time looking for wildlife. No promises, but we saw howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, caiman, crocodiles, and various birds. Even if we didn't see the animals we still would have had a good time going down the river. Eventually we got out of the boat and planted a tree to help prevent soil erosion on the banks (we named ours jeff). At the end we got out and had fresh fruits at a local farm before heading back to our hotel.

Plenty of Fun, Animals, & Fruits

Juan and Fabian were great tour guides. Fabian dropped us off after stopping to show us two mother Sloths with babies and the Juan took us slowly down the river and gave plenty of time to see a Heron, Monkeys, Caymans, Iguanas, and Falcons. We also stopped along the way to plant a tree to continue to protect the river bank. At the end, Fabian picked us up and had pineapples, watermelons, and rambutans waiting for us. Make sure to pack sunscreen because it gets hot!

What should I bring or wear?
