An Unforgettable Safari Experience with an Excellent Guide.
Went to akagera park with my sister and we had an amazing safari experience! It was a one day trip but truly memorable, and we enjoyed every moment of the trip. The weather was perfect, cloudy and nice cold air, the park was beautiful! Our driver Bosko was excellent at spotting animals quickly and always made sure we could see them clearly, which made the experience even more special. His knowledge, attentiveness, and effort really made a difference. Everything came together to make it an unforgettable adventure. I highly recommend this safari to anyone looking for a wonderful wildlife experience.

incredibly interesting
This one-day safari was incredibly beautiful. We treated ourselves to the big jeep together. Our driver and guide Bosko picked us up at our accommodation in Kigali at 5am and brought us home safely in the evening. We drove many hours through the national park and saw an improbable number of interesting animals. We will not forget this experience and can really recommend this 1 day safari.

private safari in Rwanda
We booked a four-day private safari. We started in Musanze (Ruhengeri). We visited Kivu Lake, Nyungwe Park and Akagera National Park. We (four of us) spent a very intensive but also eventful four days in Rwanda; a boat trip and swimming in Lake Kivu, canopy walk, chimpanzees trekking in the rainforest and a safari in Akagera park, exploring virtually the whole country. We agreed the plan for the whole trip in advance.. I must admit that we spent a relatively long time in the jeep The distances are not great, but it takes quite a while to get there. if you don't want to drive that far, you can actually skip Lake Kivu. It might also be worth adding one day in Akagera park and a night safari there. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes is also very good option, especially when you are in Musanze - we did it earlier, therefore it was not included in the plan this time. Everything was well prepared. We also had a good, friendly guide and driver in one - with previous experience in the Akagera park (he was our guide there). We could hear lots of interesting stories about nature and life in Rwanda itself.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for taking your precious time to leave us a 5-star rating–it's so much appreciated. Your 4-Day Rwanda Safari was a delight and we fully enjoyed every second spent with you and your team. From your positive review, we still learn a thing or two on now to keep improving travel experiences to Rwanda. We cannot wait to host you once again in the near future. Once again, thanks for visiting Rwanda with Ikaze Rwanda Tours & Travel. Murakoze!

Amazing Animals and a Very Memorable Trip. Coffee that makes you beat your chest like a gorilla!
Highly recommend using this company. Very professional, efficient and clean vehicles, and highly skilled in giving us an amazing experience. Anaclet was an incredible tour guide. We saw some unbelievable game at Akagera, things you only see in National Geographic. Anaclet was so kind and nice, very fun to travel with him and a trooper for doing so much driving. Ask for the morning or evening drives and stay at the lodge to see the leopards, but doing a day trip from Kigali is completely feasible as well. I will be recommending this company and Anaclet specifically to all my friends.
Response from the operator: Dear Esteemed Guest, Thank you so much for your TripAdvisor review and for choosing Ikaze Rwanda Tours & Travel for your visit to Rwanda. It means a lot to us that you took the time to share your experience, and we're glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us in Rwanda. With such a refreshing review, we can only aim to be better and thrive for excellent services to all our guests visiting Rwanda. We hope to welcome you back to Rwanda again soon. Murakoze!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kigali.
How much does Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park cost?
+
Prices start at $494 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kigali usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park take?
+
Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kigali is not rushed.
Is Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kigali, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kigali can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kigali and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kigali within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kigali?
+
On Outty we rank every Kigali experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include One-day Akagera National Park Game Drive with a Choice 4x4, One Day Akagera Wildlife Safari, Kigali City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kigali?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kigali?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park?
+
Included: Private transportation; All Fees and Taxes; Lunch; Hotel Pick-up and drop-off; and Free Mineral Drinking Water. Not included: Personal Purchases, Alcoholic Drinks; and Tips and Gratuities. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 2 listed pickup locations in and around Kigali. Be ready about 30 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park offered in?
+
It is offered in English and French. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Safari and Sunrise Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
