Great trip to Inca cultures

We had an amazing 3-day, 2-night experience with TreXperience! Everything was well organized, and our guide Juan was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Inca history and culture. He made the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu experience even more memorable. Highly recommend TreXperience and Juan!

Exhausting Follow-Ups for Basic Details

The Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu were spectacular and, on their own, made the trip to Peru worthwhile. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the operation of TreXperience. The booking process was excellent — efficient and responsive. Once I’d paid in full, however, communication became a bit of an endurance sport. I repeatedly had to chase basic information such as pick-up times, train schedules and hotel details. Given that TreXperience had already booked these, why wasn't a detailed itinerary emailed a day or two before the trip? The communication was also inconsistent. Some people in our group received a detailed itinerary while others didn’t. After several requests, I finally received mine — along with an apology — on the last night of the tour. Our guides were put in a difficult position, having to manage guests with different information. A simple, consistent itinerary sent to everyone beforehand would have avoided much of the confusion. The hotels in Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes were another disappointment. They weren’t particularly comfortable and, given the price of the package and the accommodation options available in these tourist towns, I expected better. A big shout-out to our assistant guide, Evans, who remained calm, positive and patient when guests were confused or frustrated. Muchas gracias, Evans! Elisban, the emergency contact working behind the scenes, was also helpful and professional. Overall, the destination gets five stars; TreXperience’s organisation gets considerably fewer. The communication, logistics and accommodation need significant improvement. The trip was an adventure; getting basic information shouldn’t feel like chasing a llama up a mountain in high altitude!

Highly recommend this excellent tour!

This tour was such an incredible experience! Pamela was our guide for the Sacred Valley portion, and she shared much history about the Inca sites we visited. Roger and Fernando were our guides for the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and were helpful and fun. I enjoyed all the interesting history Roger shared throughout the tour. The chefs prepared delicious food on the hiking day. Everything was perfect!

Sacred Valley VIP + Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 Days: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Sacred Valley VIP + Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 Days cost?

+

Prices start at $840 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sacred Valley VIP + Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 Days take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Sacred Valley VIP + Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 Days worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 67 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sacred Valley VIP + Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 Days?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Sacred Valley VIP + Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 Days suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 72-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Sacred Valley VIP + Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 Days?

+

Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sacred Valley VIP + Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 Days start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
