Highly recommend deep dive into Inca past

Our tour started with a timely pickup from our hotel. A private driver (Luis) and our guide (Gary/Garcia) came in a private car. They set out the itinerary for the day and let us choose stops to get snacks or go shopping. My favourite part of this trip was that Gary is a local with deep ancestral knowledge of the Inca. This meant the depth of knowledge he was able to give and the explorations behind the cultural places we visited were beyond what you’d ever receive in a normal group tour. If you are curious and truly want to learn and understand beyond a superficial tourist depth the ways of the Inca and every aspect of their lives and history, this tour is simply amazing. We covered major highlights like the Maras salt mines, Moray, and Ollantaytambo and in each case I could write a trip report on each site with the things we learned. Our guide answered every random question I had and dove in the deep history of each place. He knew exactly when to be where to avoid the large crowds and tour buses so we got the best possible experience and photos. It truly felt like a perfectly tailored experience. We left feeling so amazed by the Inca and were thankfully to have such a knowledgeable guide. This is a highly recommended tour!

Fantastic tour with Luis from Machupicchu Latin America!!

I booked the tour with the Machupicchu Latin America tour operator for September 5th, 2023. My tour guide - Luis, and the driver - Luis, arrived at my hotel on time. My tour guide, Luis, was very informative and knowledgeable about all the historical sites we visited that day. Since this is a private tour, our itinerary was flexible and accommodative. I was not pushed to any "shopping" souvenir places; it was all about visiting the historical sites I wanted to visit and see within the recommended destinations. I highly recommend this tour operator and Luis, the tour guide!!

Response from the operator: Hi Stan, Thank you very much for taking a moment and share your experienve travelling with our team. We are happy to know that you enjoyed the tour with our tour guide,. Travelling with us will always find the flexibility and enjoy more. Your worrds is all we need to keep working hard and deliver memorable moments. All the best!!! @MachupicchuLatinAmerica

Excellent family tour. We were with our guide Gary and driver Román on a very complete tour with our little 5-year-old children and it was spectacular. We did Cuzco, Chinchero, Maras, Moray, Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. 3 unforgettable days with excellent historical explanation. Very good attention and service. Marvelous time with Michael and Latin America

Once in a lifetime experience starting from the booking process, transportation, accomodation, great weather and the best tour guide Michael at this point I totally agree when travellers say that a tour guide can make your trip a great experience or a complete disaster, thanks to all stops that we had Michael had always something to say, tell and explain regarding history, flora or fauna, local tales he is knoledgeable I had such amazing time while I explored the high andes. I wouldn't ask for any better experience all thanks to this amazing crew and of course thanks to Michael who was always there for the group he went above and beyond. Sacred Valley: Maras Salt Mines, Moray, Chinchero & Ollantaytambo: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Sacred Valley: Maras Salt Mines, Moray, Chinchero & Ollantaytambo cost?

+

Prices start at $19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sacred Valley: Maras Salt Mines, Moray, Chinchero & Ollantaytambo take?

+

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Sacred Valley: Maras Salt Mines, Moray, Chinchero & Ollantaytambo worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sacred Valley: Maras Salt Mines, Moray, Chinchero & Ollantaytambo?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sacred Valley: Maras Salt Mines, Moray, Chinchero & Ollantaytambo suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sacred Valley: Maras Salt Mines, Moray, Chinchero & Ollantaytambo?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sacred Valley: Maras Salt Mines, Moray, Chinchero & Ollantaytambo start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
