Incredible 2 day/ 2 night hike with sleeper train to Sapa and limousine bus return to Hanoi

The entire tour was amazing with a 12km trek into Sapa and it was mind blowing... Our Guide AI She was amazing spoke extremely good English and was so informative and helpful in some wet and challenging muddy areas....I had a blast...laughing all the time and the views were phenomenal... Day 2 went for a 5 km walk past cat cat village into Ly thi Du and it was a beautiful way to see the farms and local life! Learnt lots about the uses for plants on the side of the road that they use everyday with medicinal uses and as a horticulturalist it was great to see the local way of life! Please if you get a good guide tip them Something as they truly appreciate every little bit extra! I took AI for a massage and gave her a nice tip....she was amazing and deserves a raise! Thank you for an incredible time i will return to beautiful Sapa! 🙏

Great experience but unorganised and bad shared limousine

The experience didn’t start out great for us. We had some bad experiences with the shared limousines. We were picked up and taken to a stop, then told to change to a different car. There was limited English and we were told the car would arrive in 15 minutes. We waited for about 30 minutes then got into this other car, no information as to what was going on. When we got to Sapa, the driver dropped off the other passengers to different hotels then asked us where we were going. We were confused as we weren’t given any details for a hotel or where to meet the tour guide. I tried messaging the trip operator and calling multiple times no answer. We tried calling the company and spoke to someone, but they didn’t seem to understand what was happening. We ended up being dropped at a hotel and told to wait there 15 minutes. We waited in the cold for 60 minutes trying to figure out what was going on. By this point it was 2pm and we hadn’t had lunch or been given directions for lunch. Ended up getting in touch with the tour operator who was great and sorted it out for us. For us to go into the hotel eat lunch and wait for the tour guide. She was apologetic and offered us a private guided trek instead of the group to which we accepted. The trek was amazing, a once in a lifetime experience. Was difficult and 1/2 of it was complete mud (so be prepared). There is a lot of slipping and a lot of difficult sections. If you don’t have proper boots make sure you take the option to hire the gumboots. Homestay was amazing no complaints there. On our trip home we had another bad experience with the limousine. He picked up 2 Vietnamese passengers along the way and proceeded to drop them to their hotels before us, which added another 1 hour to our already very long trip. We were tired and just wanted to get back and shower. There was also no communication as to what was going on, he was just driving around the city and dropping them off. Overall; would I recommend yes. But be prepared!

Perfect trip, would do it again

The trip was perfect. Everything was well organised and worked out perfectly. Our guide Ai was super friendly and nice. She knew a lot of inside information and let us feel welcome and save all the time. Would totally recommend it and would do it again.

Sa Pa 2-Day Moderate Trek and Homestay Limousine Tour from Hanoi: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Sa Pa 2-Day Moderate Trek and Homestay Limousine Tour from Hanoi cost?

    +

Prices start at $118 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sa Pa 2-Day Moderate Trek and Homestay Limousine Tour from Hanoi take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Sa Pa 2-Day Moderate Trek and Homestay Limousine Tour from Hanoi worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sa Pa 2-Day Moderate Trek and Homestay Limousine Tour from Hanoi?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sa Pa 2-Day Moderate Trek and Homestay Limousine Tour from Hanoi suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sa Pa 2-Day Moderate Trek and Homestay Limousine Tour from Hanoi?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sa Pa 2-Day Moderate Trek and Homestay Limousine Tour from Hanoi start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
